Idk, they're not doing too bad all things considered. Though I'd be interested in the long term of that portfolio before I say whether or not they're actually a success.
what a madman
If you have a lot of money, why not
It's a cool experiment
What if it turns out to be a great way to make money and this becomes a real thing that people do

The channel is taking donations that go into the cash pool. This is actually a fucking genius idea. I don't forsee the owner losing money on this, as even if his initial cashpool gets invested poorly, the donations should be enough to at least let him break even when he liquidates after the entire thing is done and over with.
I wonder what Twitch will have to say about this?

whats wrong about it?
At least this isn't some elaborate pyramid scheme

I'm not sure, there's just this vibe of it not being quite right. I don't imagine Twitch ever anticipated someone gamifying stock trading, and I don't know how ok they'd be with it considering the controversy surrounding weapon skin gambling.
For all we know it's probably harmless, but it just gives me this weird vibe of it not being kosher. Like "is this an ok thing to do?", that kind of uncertain feeling.
So who's going to make a bot to push Enron stock?
Fucking fascinating. Crowdfunding stocks. Excited to see how this plays out.
This is great

Twitch staff are voting in the comments so I'm guessing it's allowed :v
This seems like a really bad idea to do with your own cash.
It doesn't matter if it's pocket change to him though.
This might do well. I hear a big problem in buying stocks is that many people buy correlated stocks that do equally well/bad. With so many people involved it's more likely for the portfolio to be stronger (but I know little about stock markets).
also he put in 50k cash, the portfolio value has to stay above 25k otherwise robinhood is legally obligated to shut down his account because he's acting as a day trader
Twitch plays new York stock exchange.
Isn't there some saying going around that you'd be better off flipping a coin instead of listening to pro stock market strategists? Twitch chat may just end up doing fine.

Article says that he saved up for this event and is "a little nervous", so I doubt it's just pocket change to him.

Considering twitch is all in on the moneygrab with tips, emoticons and what not, i dont think they would care for a guy playing with money.
Dont they also have a lot of poker streamers?
buy 25k worth of juicero stocks

It's not gambling in any way though, the viewers can't make any money off it. The only situation I could see being sketchy is if somehow a company used this to invest the money in their business, but idk how his setup works, he might have a way to prevent that sort of thing.
