I don't know why I make so many loops, I suppose it's probably better for game devs to have something that sounds perfect in a loop, ah well. I far prefer playing live but, because I can't fit my piano in my uni room, the demo for FL is my creative outlet.
I've posted here before, I've got upwards of 30 piano uploads all of them made to loop (I think). Here are my recent ones.
Celestial Battle : http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/378609
Just uploaded this one now, quite happy with the result. Sounds quite military if you ask me. Infact this would probably be suited to more instruments (strings for the higher parts and perhaps a drum) but I cba finding a good synth.
Triumphant Heart : http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/378293
Made this one because just I was inspired after a girl I managed to pull a girl I like. Stupid reason, I know, but it made me come out with this. Is named because of the emotion, not the song.
Circle of Willis : http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/360654
Made with a girl in mind who's last name is Willis. Not worth asking, just worth listening.
Guile's Dream : http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/370155
Took the popular Guile's Theme and made it Piano with a key change and other stuff. I like the way it turned out.
To Frolic: http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/338014
Bit old but this is one of the few that I truly think would work in a flash game.
Hope you guys like them. If I'm going to be completely honest there isn't much effort involved here when it comes to mastering or editing. I usually just make a melody and then add a counter melody on top of the same melody or the same for bass. It's far easier making more advanced compositions when playing live so these loops probably don't song too natural. Ah well.
Instead of just taking one little rhythmic idea and playing with it for a bit, make a song and have the composition mean something.
Yeah that's what I'd do under normal circumstances but it's alot harder to do that with FL so I just make loops instead.
Good golly, I wish I knew how to play piano. I bought a keyboard, but for the past few weeks I've just sat here and stared at it. I don't even know where to start.
Youtube tutorials. There are some good ones. Personally, I just started jamming on mine because I found out the note structure and because of some music theory knowledge I can usually just jump into playing an instrument. Of course not doing anything too amazing, but at least making music.
Where I'd start is playing chords and improving a lead over it.
