• Resolution shrinks when I unlock my Windows

So because of a giant house-computer war where for some reason, everyone wants to destroy other people's computers, I have to lock my computer every time I go away from it. But whenever I enter my password and unlock it, my resolution shrinks and messes up my icons (I keep them in a certain order). This really annoys me as I have to change my resolution and fix my icons every single time I get on my computer. Is there a way to fix this?
if someone's been in your system files, run
sfc /scannow
in admin mode to revert all system changes. Check for some sort of a script that reduces resolution in the startup folder, the registry key for startup programs, etc. If it's in the Windows folder, that command should delete it.

So I doubt that's it.
hmm.. that's pretty strange then... I assume you have already checked the cables to make sure they are tight and have googled the issue, right?

But I also found another thing out; It only shrinks if I lock my computer right after I exit a game. If I exit a game, I have to wait 5 minutes to lock it. I don't get it.
Try doing a clean install of your graphics drivers to the most recent version.
Try doing a clean install of your graphics drivers to the most recent version.
I just did that. It still shrinks if I lock right after I play a game. I also found out more; It only happens after I play a Source game. I was playing Mirror's Edge and I locked by accident and when I unlocked to fix my icons, it was still the same resolution. I'm also thinking it might have to to with the fact that my ATI's CCC is still installed (I use NVidia now). But I can't find a way to uninstall it. And I'm afraid it might harm my computer (in some way).
reformat having ATI drivers and Nvidia drivers on the same computer is a problem.
reformat having ATI drivers and Nvidia drivers on the same computer is a problem.
I don't think this deserves a reformat... Just use driversweeper to remove all ati/nvidia drivers then reinstall the latest version.
Stop locking and just log off? [editline]11:31PM[/editline] Or switch user.
reformat having ATI drivers and Nvidia drivers on the same computer is a problem.
So the solution is to reformat? What the hell kind of solution is that? "Honey, the tire on the car is flat. How do I change it?" "Get a new car."
Stop locking and just log off? [editline]11:31PM[/editline] Or switch user.
Only one user, and that's me. Logging off makes it automatically lock.
