Hamas forced to take on counterterrorist position against Isis influence in Gaza
Hamas has long had a complicated relationship with Salafi-jihadi groups operating in Gaza. But in the past few weeks, a series of clashes between Hamas and self-proclaimed ISIS affiliates in the strip, such as Ansar al-Dawla al-Islamiyya, have underscored that the complex balance between active armed factions may be growing more precarious and unstable.
Salafi movements are hardly a new phenomenon in Gaza, with nonviolent social and political groups – including Hizb al-Tahrir – operating in Gaza since at least the 1980s. Yet in the past decade, the territory has seen the rise of a small number of loosely organized self-proclaimed Salafi-jihadi organizations. These groups first emerged in the period leading up to the 2005 Israeli withdrawal, but grew in influence in the midst of the Fatah-Hamas clashes and the subsequent Hamas takeover of Gaza in 2007. These local jihadi cells maintained ideological (but not operational) links to Al-Qaeda and have been active in Gaza since 2007, opposing the Hamas government and its perceived moderation while perpetrating mostly low-scale attacks against internal targets, along with launching rockets at Israel.
I guess there's a 3-state solution now; Islamic State being the third..

Actually Hamas' Gaza is the third, since the Palestinian Authority's West Bank is the second.
Still, this is the middle east. The enemy of my enemy is still my enemy.

well with the current gaza situation, it's the enemy of my enemy is my weapon, at least according to the pro-Isis groups
Let's hope ISIS manages to piss off Israel something fierce. That'd help a bit on their whole 'being alive' situation.
ISIS does not exist. Al Qaeda was a confabulation of western governments and I wouldn't be surprised to find it's the same thing with ISIS. Heck, even their flag is more of a statement of religion than nation or ideology.

You mean like a dozen other middle eastern flags and symbols? Especially terrorism-related...
And Al Quaeda sort of had thousands of personell, I am pretty sure it existed.
On topic: hope Hamas likes the taste of their own medicine.

Watch the documentary. Al Qaeda was an invention of western governments.

lots of flags are statements of religion. Look at the Israeli flag. If ISIS doesn't exist, who are the Kurds fighting again?

Why would western governments make up Al Qaeda, esp considering their 1995 and 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers?

Are you kidding? Because of the NSA obviously. How are they supposed to justify further surveillance?

So George Bush's approval could soar to 90%, practically ensuring him another term, and giving him an excuse to invade Iraq 4 dat oil :tinfoil:
Al Quaeda appeared from Mujahedeen, who actually were sponsored and bred by USA to fight them commies.
But Al Quaeda was funded by mostly Saudis and bit USA hard.

Yes, ramming planes into the towers and starting a decade long invasion that crashed the economy and ended all trust for the government was the only way to do so.

You risk harming what you believe the more you enforce it on others. if you keep it up this will be the discussion of the thread to laff at for the next 6 pages

Pretty sad to see people shrugging off documentaries as "Conspiracy tinfoil" stuff.
I'm sorry something challenges your worldview so much you decide to ignore it.

I'm sorry that I find most of this stuff to be lacking in real logic? I've looked into some of this stuff, and I find it to be horseshit. Have a problem with that?

You said yourself you don't want to see the documentary, so how can you claim it's lacking in real logic?
The man who directed it is an award winning director, who also made The century of the self.
My main problem is your ignorance, and you claim everything else lacks logic. How about you do your own research for once.

Because the first clue that it's bullshit is that they base their analysis of the architectural failure of the twin towers to someone who has no architectural background.

You seem like someone who can't be persuaded that easy

At least this a legit reason rather than "Smells like tinfoil"

Because I require proof and not shenanigans.

Maybe you're right, some shitty ones like loose change killed my interest in most similar media.

It's not like the US government has done shady shit before that it outright denies, right?

So you have incidents from 60+ years ago and one of a Japanese terror unit.
This doesn't prove the US did 9/11.

First of all, I never said US did 9/11, nice try there. Secondly, I was never referring to Loose Change. Try to actually read my post this time.

Here is where you go on about "shrugging off documentaries", in which he talks about Loose Change and how you believe because he won't watch it due to bias.

And here, when you say "The documentary", I'm still assuming Loose Change. Because we were talking about Loose Change, then you changed it to this other guy for some reason?

Then what is the inference if we were talking about 9/11 then you bring up bad things the US has done? To try and paint them in a light that "oh, maybe they could have done it." Don't deny that's what you were going for, it's obvious.

No I was always referring to The power of nightmares, the guy says no thanks to watching that, not Loose Change, seeing as he already saw it.
Try reading the posts.
About the shady stuff, the only thing I was going for is that governments hides stuff, nothing else. You are the one projecting the 9/11 into it.
