They only did 1 for call of duty 4 and you guys are complaining? I'll admit it's disappointing to hear there is only going to be 2, but it's not like they made a shitload for Call of duty: 4 and only 2 for Modern warfare 2. I mean what if each map pack had like 4 or 5 maps in it? You don't know for sure. Sure treyarch came out with 4 map packs, but honestly the nazi zombies is probably the only thing most people bought them for. So who knows maybe there's gonna be some kind of Arab zombies that comes it comes with? Point is most of you guys are whining about something that doesn't need to be whined about.

We are pissed for a number of reasons.
1- The map packs will be released on the 360 and then, sometime later, will be released on the PC and PS3. This is bullshit.
2- They canceled the special editions for PC. This is bullshit.
3- They increased the price of the PC game even though it comes with less than usual. This is quite bullshit.

This is really pathetic that the already know there WILL be mappacks instead of just putting the maps into the game. It's even funnier when you realize that they raised the price all over the place.
FUCK developers who announce DLC before a game is released. It's FUCKING RIDICULOUS. It's setting aside a part of the game to nickel-and-dime extra money for it after the "full" game comes out. I don't give a shit if it's the "developer's right and they can do what they want hurr durr", it's fucking ridiculous considering both the current economic state and the current price of video games. I paid $60 (it's even more in the UK!) for this and now I have to pay MORE to get the rest of it? Terrible. I'm not saying DLC should be free...I'm just saying it's frustrating knowing that the DLC was developed during the full game's development and that it was content that was set aside specifically to make extra money off the game...which is especially annoying because Microsoft and Sony's stupid policies make it manditory to inflate the prices, which causes the PC equivalent of the DLC to cost more.
Also, I'm not much of a CoD fan, but I've been paying attention to it. Activision is oversaturating yet another of their properties with unnecessary sequels and that is also annoying since eventually it's going to start degrading its overall quality. I can't wait until Call of Duty 7 is announced before 6 (Modern Warfare 2) is ou- OH WAIT IT ALREADY WAS. I bet you anything Call of Duty 8 will be announced before year's end.

I don't think you've done enough research. Infinity Ward is the company that develops the good games from the Call of Duty series. They are the developers of Modern Warfare 2. If you beat the first game, you'd know that it was a massive cliffhanger, so a sequel seemed inevitable. It's completely out of Infinity Ward's control what Activision does with prices and exclusives. They are a good developer. Activision is a shitty publisher.

It's the fact that they're making tons of dumb, money-sapping decisions is what's got us riled up. Raising the price of the PC version? Announcing DLC before release and also announcing that it'll be sparse since they already have it all planned out? Not good at all, especially if they're trying to lower piracy rates.

Oh yeah, I don't doubt that the game's probably going to be good. I own CoD4. I'm lamenting that Activision is going to keep putting money into a constant release cycle plan that will eventually make too many sequels come out too fast, degrading the quality of the series. They already did this shit to Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero is starting to look like shit and is oversaturating the music game market because of it. I hope I wasn't the only one who noticed that the new CoD and GH games are starting to be announced together; GH5 and CoD:MW2 were announced at the same time in December '08, shortly after the fall releases of Guitar Hero: World Tour and Call of Duty: World at War.
It makes me feel bad when good developers like IW fall into the hands of an idiotic publisher like Activision. There's just no justice in that.

Hey, blame valve, they got us all used to free new maps and community input and massive updates with TF2. They didn't say "Oh also some maps will be released seperately"
