• GAME is up for sale
GAME, the popular but troubled UK retailer, has put itself up for sale in an effort to avoid administration. GAME has put itself up for sale, as it desperately tries to raise cash to pay a quarterly rent bill which is due in a fortnight, according to the Sunday Times. As I reported earlier in the week GAME is currently having a huge fire sale to get rid of stock, and there’s apparently quite a few bargains to be had.
http://mynintendonews.com/2012/03/11/game-is-up-for-sale/
Poor guys. :(
Will it be taking gamestation down with it?
Poor guys. :(
Are you serious? Game is the cause of so many problems, I personally hope they go bankrupt from this.
Poor guys. :(
I think they're trying to commit suicide, they stock farming simulator 2012 but not SFxT
Are you serious? Game is the cause of so many problems, I personally hope they go bankrupt from this.
Why? Name me one alternative with that kind of game selection that isn't online.
The firesale for PC items is pretty poor to be honest.
Oh no, where are we going to buy The Sims 3, World of Warcraft or Call of Duty?!
I think they're trying to commit suicide, they stock farming simulator 2012 but not SFxT
THERE'S A FARMING SIMULATOR 2012? WHY THE FUCK AM I STILL PLAYING 2011?
Why? Name me one alternative with that kind of game selection that isn't online.
Game has shown its true colours in the past, preventing a multitude of games from showing up on Steam because apparently publishers think Game has any sort of foothold in PC game sales. And why would I name one that isn't online? Retail is becoming obsolete. Places like Amazon are so much cheaper than both Steam, and retail. Only peasants buy games at retail, for retail prices. And haha, "that kind of game selection" can be found in Tesco.
THERE'S A FARMING SIMULATOR 2012? WHY THE FUCK AM I STILL PLAYING 2011?
It has multiplayer IIRC.
Why? Name me one alternative with that kind of game selection that isn't online.
Even tesco have more PC games than game.
Oh no, where are we going to buy The Sims 3, World of Warcraft or Call of Duty?!
People's jobs are are the line you know, plus they're the only somewhat decent place to pick up xbox 360 games without waiting 1+ days for it to ship. Forgot about Tescos etc. Oh well, jobs are jobs etc or whatever.
If GAME is up for sale, will it affect Gamestation? I mean, it's the same company, so are both having issues? Oh, wrong company, thanks Neon.
People's jobs are are the line you know, plus they're the only somewhat decent place to pick up xbox 360 games without waiting 1+ days for it to ship.
People can get new jobs, and if you preorder on Amazon you often find yourself getting the game up to a week before the release, which happened to someone I know with Fallout New Vegas. The point is that Game is killing better services like Steam because they, to be frank, are greedy cunts.
Good, now i can buy it for two nickels and a dime.
The firesale for PC items is pretty poor to be honest.
I don't think my local game had one, there was some kind of sale but all they really did was take £4 of some off the games, MW3 was still £42 as normal.
Sad to see it like this, but mainly because it was my go-to shop when I wanted a PS1 or 2 game a while back. But I remember reading something like titles weren't being purchasable online because GAME were greedy fucks, so it's time for them to go.
The firesale for PC items is pretty poor to be honest.
I didn't see a single thing on sale in my local game in the PC section, the 3 for £10 and 2 for £15 sections were both the exact same as they had always been.
There isn't even a PC section in my local game anymore There's a popular games list but that's pretty much it
Valve should buy them out.
Valve should buy them out.
And then sell their assets, keeping the store is pointless.
Since it's used, can I use my membership card and get 10% off?
At first I didn't care much and thought 'meh' But then I remembered that I had spent hundreds of quid there years ago and my reward card has something like £15 off to be claimed... gotta hurry!
last time i bought an actual CD/DVD was.... 2006. one of the main reason I don't shop physically any more is that it is time consuming
If GAME is up for sale, will it affect Gamestop? I mean, it's the same company, so are both having issues?
I think you mean GameStation.
I hope there still will be a few things I could buy cheap till tuesday.
I think you mean GameStation.
Haha I know this is off topic but I tried to trade in like 26 somewhat-recent 360 games in like July 2011 and they offered me like £5. Those games included Halo: Reach, Fallout: New Vegas, etc.
Are you serious? Game is the cause of so many problems, I personally hope they go bankrupt from this.
So you want hundreds of people to lose their jobs?
Well so much for nabbing something for a nice price when I'm on holiday this summer.
