• Theresa May to Launch Wide-Ranging Internet Regulation and Security Changes
Theresa May looks set to launch wide-ranging internet regulation and plans to fundamentally change how technology works despite not having won a majority. In the speech in which she committed to keep governing despite calls to stand down, the prime minister made reference to extending powers for the security services. Those powers – which include regulation of the internet and forcing internet companies to let spies read everyone's private communications – were a key part of the Conservative campaign, which failed to score a majority in the House of Commons. In the speech, given in Downing Street after losing her majority but still looking to form a government, she laid out a series of plans that she hopes to carry out at what she called a "critical time for our country". ... Almost all of Ms May's plans for stopping terror have focused on internet communications, despite there being no proof that they are responsible for recent attacks. She said after the London Bridge attack that she planned four ways to stop terror, which included internet regulation alongside countering propaganda and segregation. Experts have warned that those plans for internet regulation could in fact make life easier for terrorists. how about pack up and fuck off you Nicola Murray wannabe
Ugh, I can see her play already. She's hoping the left-orientated parties will shoot it down so she can start shouting them down as "Enemies of the people" to shore up her voterbase, given her waning popularity.
murdoch wants her blood tho, so i doubt it'll work
I guess she's probably doing it to try and win back his love, too, as it wouldn't surprise me that he is one of the main behind-the-scenes drivers of policy like this.
Oh fuck off you old crow you haven't even got a government set up yet.
Just piss off already old hag. Your plan is not going to work.
lmao like this is going to happen now given everything that's gone on. I'd like to see her try, she'll get demolished
I'd like to see you try you silly cunt (Probably worth shooting a letter to yer MP just in case)
So will the extremist material published by the people you're trying to climb into bed with still be allowed?
Fuck off you batty old witch. Ugh can't believe people actually voted for this cow.
This will get shot down in Commons, dw.
This will get shot down in Commons, dw.
Suppose it's a good thing the Tories fucked up and lost their majority lmao. A good number of their party will happily walk the party line on this and vote for it because apparently that's more important than not being a fucking imbecile. But without a majority, and with a large number of MPs who despise the woman now, this is hopefully dead.
Stop with your bullshit surveillance and censorship program, it's not only immoral, but will likely be completely ineffective. I know what might work though, actually funding the police. Beyond sick of this horrible woman. :toadleave:
Getting pretty fucking sick of this. If this doesn't get shut down hard I'm about ready to be up for a bit of cheeky protesting.
This will get shot down in Commons, dw.
She bloody well needs to be shot down, full stop. Send a message to the others that this shit is not ok, and never will be ok.
Surely nothing will come of this? Right? - Increasingly worried man
She's trying to kill things like HTTPS. Never going to happen - every tech firm will tell her to fuck herself and she'll be backed into a corner by her own MPs who some actually know what they're talking about.
Hope she lives to see the falling apart of the union she apparently hates so much. [editline]tomorrow[/editline] Actually I suppose it would be better if she keels over and dies before that happens so she doesn't get to be happy about it.
This is why people need to write to your MPs and tell them how disgusting this is and how much you oppose it; If she manages to push it, we'll need the MPs on our side voting against it.
It is time, regardless of your political persuasion to oppose May. She is going too far and is a hindrance to this country.
If you live in a Tory electorate, writing to your MPs now will be much more effective. Most of them are shitting themselves about the labour swing and are afraid of losing their seats. Strike while the iron is hot, force them to oust her from parliament
It is time, regardless of your political persuasion to oppose May. She will NEVER be my PM.
Well I guess some people in this thread got what they were asking for at least.
