The bricks used to build James May's Lego house have been salvaged and will go on display at Legoland. Over three million bricks will form part of an annual Lego brick building event at the Berkshire theme park. Next season, thousands of families will have the chance to use the famous bricks and help build new and exciting large-scale models on the parks premises. The announcement comes days after May's Lego house was disassembled because it was too costly to transport. Legoland's Martin Williams said: "We considered all the options but due to cost, timings, logistics and planning permission, we decided it would not be viable to move the structure to the park. "Our large-scale building events are always extremely popular with guests of all ages. Only last year thousands of children and their parents came together to construct the world's tallest Lego brick tower." Mr Williams said the bricks would be used to create a "giant Lego set for the nation". May's Lego House was built as a temporary structure by 1,200 people using 3.3million plastic bricks. They were tasked with making full-sized bricks, each one consisting of 272 Lego pieces. Builders then took over and laid the bricks over a six-day construction process. Legoland Windsor will work alongside Lego UK and the event will benefit their nominated charity, The National Autistic Society. I'll be sure to be there so I can begin construction on my cock-tower
When a man builds a lego house it's cool. When a man's lego house gets destroyed it's not cool. When the bricks are saved.... It changes nothing. It still sucks
Imagine stepping on all those lego pieces. I hate it when i leave a small lego piece on the ground and step on it.
It would be cool if they gave them away instead. Imagine have your room flowing with lego pieces....
Man I wish I were 7 years old so I could actually care about legos
What? So: Epic Lego House is built. Legoland want to buy it, then decide it's too expensive. Epic Lego House is destroyed. Legoland decide to ninja bricks. This is serious shit when it comes to Lego.
really? thats fucking stupid. "we wont buy the house, but we'll buy the bricks"
really? thats fucking stupid. "we wont buy the house, but we'll buy the bricks"
yeah
really? thats fucking stupid. "we wont buy the house, but we'll buy the bricks"
I'm pretty sure that a fully assembled lego house is more expensive than bricks that cost one tenth of a cent to make
Now I can remake all those models I broke. :buddy:
I just thought of how much plastic Lego uses every year. mother of god.
