We haven't had one of these threads in awhile, so let's get started shall we?
First off, who the fuck is Muse?
Muse are arguably one of the most successful and greatest English rock bands around today, with 6 official albums to date. Formed in Teignmouth, Devon, the band originally started playing under the name "Rocket Baby Dolls" as a gag until they won 1st place in a Battle of the Bands contest in their town. Surprised at their success, they started taking their music more seriously and changed their name to Muse. They're known for having a space-age rock sound and lyrics, and the use of synths and keyboards in a lot of their songs.
Awards
Way too many to list them all, but here's a little teaser:
-Best New Band
-Best Live Act in the world (2009-Current)
Band Members
Matthew Bellamy

Lead singer/guitarist of the trio, Matt is known for his creative guitar riffs, use of falsetto in singing and his wide vocal range, which he utilizes often, and anybody that's seen Muse live too will relate to me when I say he has a great stage presence as well. Also he's totally sexy as fuck /mancrush
Chris Wolstenholme

This guy is just a brilliant bassist, it's gotta be said. Ever since I heard Hysteria, I knew Chris was one of the best bassists I'd ever heard. Often times this is the man laying the foundation for the songs, with some guitar thrown in over the bass to accent certain things. Really underappreciated by a lot of Muse fans, but without him the band wouldn't be the same at all. Also, listen to his riff in Hysteria, jesus christ!
Dominic "Dom" Howard

The man behind the kit, Dom has a really big, powerful sound and has a great sense for fills/rolls/off-time beats. Not much I can say about him other than he can play with a shitload of energy and passion. It should also be noted that he and Matt are best friends.
Time for some albums/songs! This will be featured from earliest recordings to newest.
Showbiz - Debut album
Released in 1999, this album was met with critical acclaim and produced classics such as Muscle Museum, Sunburn, among others.

Origin of Symmetry - 2001
This and Absolution (coming up next) are widely considered to be the best albums ever produced, although which one is better is debateable. This album led to many Muse classics that they still perform in concert to this day.

Black Holes and Revelations - 2006
Brilliant album in my eyes, but not quite as liked (for some reason??) by a lot of other people compared to Absolution and OoS. Fuck em', I say.
Knights of Cydonia (you know this song)

Supermassive Black Hole (one of my personal faves)

DISCLAIMER THIS SONG IS INTENSE AS SHIT, PREPARE YOUR BUTTHOLE

The Resistance - 2009
Another fantastic album, they experimented with going more electronic in this and it works well for them.
Uprising

Due to one "dubstep" song, this album managed to upset many a fan. However, it's got some gems in there for sure.
The 2nd Law: Unsustainable

Want to proclaim your love for Muse? This is the thread to do it!
So I saw Muse on Saturday, at the Manchester Etihad Stadium.
"Best Live Act in the World" award?
100% deserved. Without a doubt the single best band I have ever seen live in my entire fucking life.

I saw them in Edinburgh in '06 and Wembley in '07. Honestly, I preferred the gig in Edinburgh just because the crowd was better but the sheer scale of the show they put on in Wembley was amazing.
Are they still doing the HAARP tour set-up?

I can't say I have a clue, I don't really know much about their live stuff and this was the first time I've seen them.
I might see them in Oslo in July. It's either that or Oyafestivalen, but I'm pretty sure I'll go with Muse.

I would recommend it any fucking day of the week...
The show they put on... it was just incredible, and I don't mean just the music and stage-presence.
I won't spoil anything in case you've never seen them, but jesus man... it's definitely worth it.
I'm a bit upset it seems they're coming nowhere near where I live for a concert in 2013. I would've thought they would have more of a tour in the US.
here's to hoping for a new york tour sometime this summer
i barely go by a day without listening to at least one muse song
I first saw them in 2009 just before they released The Resistance, they were opening up for U2 and i was blown away, I wasn't able to see them during the resistance tour but I finally got to see them again in April and damn it was an awesome show.

Some pictures I took at the concert in April.
I saw them a few months ago in St. Louis and damn, Unsustainable is a hell of an opener.

Heh, they opened with it last weekend but only up to the first mention of "unsustainable", then it transitioned into Supremacy.
Although they did play the whole song later on.
I were watching and listening them when they came to Helsinki. After that show my opinion for their newest album really changed.
Still I love their old stuff. Matthews voice is little bit "girly" and not so trained maybe. But anyways it sounds different than in the later albums.
