For everyone that thinks it's a scam go to steam and check the left 4 dead 2 page yourself.
and i got it as a gift from the last sale :|
That's nice I suppose.
Shame everyone I know already has it and doesn't want to play it again.
I loved the first one but never played the second one due to not having money. I would have missed it without seeing this thread, thank you <3
Awesome! I was going to buy it but guess I don't have to now.
I only have it on xbox so ill happily take this offer.
Is that space hulk mod for it still running?
there's like 5 people who don't have it at this point. still a cool thing to do.
ninja'd
Never had the chance to buy it cause I didn't really appeal to the Left 4 Dead series, now that it's free, might as well give it a shot.
This game is fun for a month
This game is fun for a month
I bought it on release, loved it. played it frequently for 2 months. on and off for about 3 months after that. started playing it highly frequently again in mid 2012 and still play versus or a campaign every once in a while. for all its flaws it's still my favorite valve game ever.

Theoretically it's fun forever, custom maps and friends make everything fun.
Well its not like you can play it now. The servers are probably fucked.
I bought the first, and was pissed off when they promised tons of new maps, content and other DLC for it, but then announced a second, full-priced game instead.
Is this just for today?
Is this just for today?
Just for today you can get it for free but you get to own the game.
Is this just for today?
Well, similarly to the Portal 1 giveaway, if you grab it now it's yours forever, but you can no longer get it after tomorrow 10 PST
It's just that my friend's always wanted Left 4 Dead 2 (no idea why) but the one day it's free he can't get on a computer :v:
I already own L4D2 but not L4D1...

Get on his Steam account and get it for him
This game is fun for a month
I've played over 500 hours of it and it's still as fun as the first time. If you get bored of the campaigns (though they're refined enough to make that hard), there are tons of custom campaigns out there that are just as awesome. I'll never get tired of Versus mode.
Now that it's free, I'm going to teach my little cousin how to play. She loves zombie games, so that's another awesome Christmas present.
Maybe I can get the frying pan that I threw away a few years ago again.

You're not missing out on anything.
They should make a free sequel which has a drops/inventory system like TF2 or DOTA, and take elements of the generated weapon system from Borderlands 2.
That should scale up by putting you against increasingly difficult enemies based on your group's weapon/equipment levels.
So you'd be zombie slaying with your friends and get some epic drops, like super baseball bats, hats, clothing etc.
This game would have been a lot better if it got as much support as TF2.
It was abandoned by the Devs, it was at it's peak when "The Sacrifice" + the comic was released.
Huh. That's a nice gesture from Valve.
Not much into the L4D series myself, but I'll give it a go. c:
I have LFD1 but not 2 and me and my classmates wanted to play 2 cause they have it and now I can too
woo
Its like a Corrupt a Wish.
I wish valve released left 4 dead 2 for free, for one day.

Your wish is granted, but the Steam Store's Servers can't take it and you can't get it.
It says 50% off l4d2. Not free.
The servers are shitting themselves.
I guess they weren't expecting people to swarm for a free game
