Trevor Adams was a model student until extreme bullying drove him to threaten to bomb the high school football team. Now Trevor's a time bomb himself - troubled, misunderstood, and on the brink of committing real violence. Salvation comes in the form of a caring drama teacher named Mr. Duncan, who offers Trevor the lead in the school play. But when the community gets wind of the play's subject matter - school violence and playground killers - as well as its troubled protagonist, the production is in jeopardy, as is Trevor's attempt to avoid calamity. This gritty, hard-hitting drama offers an authentic glimpse inside the post-Columbine high schools of America and the forces that can compel a teen to violence.
Basically, Ben foster, who you may remember as Russell on six feet under is an average 4channer in high school who is convinced to get involved in a play about a teenage murderer[sp], and eventually starts rolling with some kids that want to shoot up the school,[/sp] by the new girl and the Drama teacher played by Tom Cavanagh, AKA J.D.'s brother back before scrubs turned to shit, and the movie sublime. Plot twist starts here, don't read unless you don't mind spoilers. [sp]Trevor's new friends start to cause shit at the school with him along with shooting guns and blowing shit up to manage anger. The play gets banned from the school, but the teacher wants to do the play, so he does it in a community theater. Mass shitstorm ensues once they move the play, so they move yet again to a church because they REALLY want to get this shit made, and they just love to piss people off. On the verge of expulsion, Trevor hands in a movie about him murdering a football player from the school after showing footage of said player being a bullying jackass. The director (who also does the media class that he turned it in to) tries to defend him. It doesn't work. Eventually there's a plot to shoot up the school, and Trevor realizes that if they go through that they'd kill the girl that he pretty much is dating, and calls it off, but the others won't stop. He goes to the director and warns him[/sp] I'm not going to spoil the whole ending, because with the mood of the story can easily go either way. Note that this is a showtime feature movie thing, so it's pretty much an anti-bullying campaign movie. I also only went over the main plot points there, up until the middle, and then the very end, so the whole second half of the movie isn't spoiled at all for anyone that read that.
I ended up watching this back in Health Class during school, was expecting some crappy low budget anti-bullying video and I was actually surprised when it ended up being an actual movie. That one part where the fat kid tells the tiny kid to sing Jingle Bells whenever he sees him is hilarious though. :v:
Now that I think about it, it's like a more realistic freaks and geeks, but with jocks instead.
You forgot to include the anti-video games part!
There really isn't any anti-video games part to it.
I watched this for a class this past year, enjoyed it. But I still prefer Zero Day
I remember that movie, it was pretty good
Loved this movie
