Here's my reasoning, the ipad 2 will eventually come, and I don't have the money to shell out for an ipad 2 if I don't sell the one I have now. It seems that ipads are in somewhat short supply for this holiday season, and I imagine people will want one, so if I want to sell it I should probably do so soon and be able to have the shipping arrive at the buyers house before christmas. Also, the ipad was announced in january I believe, and released in april. When the ipad 2 is announced I imagine there will be many people clamoring to sell their ipads online to be able to get an ipad 2.
I've seen a couple of 64 GB wifi's going up on ebay for up to $550 with bids (and those were used ones just like mine, but didn't come with the original packaging or a case). Mine has ALWAYS Been in a case, so it has no scratches, and the screen and back is still pretty much pristine (apart from a few fingerprints that I can easily remove prior to taking pictures of it for ebay. Not only that, but I also will be including the apple ipad case with it, and the charger and usb cable. On top of that, I have the original packaging for the case AND the ipad, right down to the instructions inside and the plastic that the ipad was actually wrapped in, both boxes are in near perfect condition since it's only been sitting in my closet.
My thinking is that if I can put it up soon and sell it before christmas, I can stand to make a decent amount of the money I paid for it back. Prior to selling I'll be sure to take a picture of it working, and restore it to factory settings. I've had it since june, and I'll miss it, but I can live without it most likely. So what do you think, does this seem like a sound idea?
Sounds good to me. I'd probably price it around $600 in that condition, or hawk it off around best buy and the like for $700. It always works if they are out of stock.
Wait, if your current iPad has just been sitting in your closet, then why get a new one?
Why not just use the money on something more usefull?
no no, I use my ipad a lot, the boxes for it have been in the closet :p
to get an iPad 2, read before responding

Sorry I misread lol.
Well yeah, I think its a great idea then, that is if you can live without the goodness of the iPad for a couple of months
No one knows dick about when the new iPad is coming out so why not just wait instead of jumping the gun and selling it?

apple uses yearly cycles for mobile devices so it's a pretty safe bet there will be a new one out in april

as mentioned, Apple always releases a product a year after the previous version released, give or take 2 or 3 days at the most.
So, pretty much everyone knows dick about when the new iPad is coming out.

I bought an iPad for Christmas this year. I do not regret it one bit. If the iPad 2 has FaceTime, Cameras or a gyro I won't care. I regret buying my iPhone 4. I've never used FaceTime and I've never used the gyro. The extra ram is nice though. Thats my only concern about the iPad, 256M of Ram.
