• How to keep aspect ratio (black bars question)
    4 replies, posted
My monitor (HP L1706 flat panel) auto-fits games to the width and height of the screen, and I want to play in widescreen (with black bars and such). I have no idea how to make it stop auto-fitting. Is there a way to make my monitor keep aspect ratio (or stop GUI scaling as ATI CCC calls it)? Before answering, here is some more info: I have XP Service Pack 3, so the win7 "Disable GUI scaling" for CCC does not exist. Not only does it auto-fit, it auto-adjusts whether I like it or not. Disabling this would also be a plus.
I don't think so, only if your monitor can do it.
Either upgrade to 7 and use it's feature which does that, or look for a feature built into your monitor that can accomplish that... I think otherwise your stuck.
