Before you dig through this, I know that an 850 watt PSU is grossly absurd, but I liked its 80 Plus Gold rating. In addition to finding a better one, someone explain how important power efficiency is.
Case: HAF 932, no link cause FP seems to love it.

Video: Probably a 5770, just recommend good manufacturers.

No PSU cause I know the one I picked is stupid. Haven't chosen speakers, could use something better, everything else salvaged from my current rig.
Total price: 874.95, USD. Price is minus anything not listed above, like video and sound. I also noticed the DVD drive I wanted is "Deactivated" on Newegg. Any of this can be changed, I suck at picking good stuff.

Full build.
RAM: 4 GB is acceptable, but I've heard some pretty good reviews of Mushkin, and I'm still leaning towards 6.
Mobo: Why a Micro? The 932 is full tower, after all.
Everything else looks good, and $1091.48 is about $550 less than what I had.
Shit, didn't realise it was mATX.

You'll want to go with 4GB or 8GB of RAM as the i5 and it's motherboards take Dual Channel RAM.
Ok, but what's the difference between the P55 and X58 chipsets? Also, I may cough up money for the i7 920 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115202) because the i5 only supports up to 1333 MHz memory clock speeds, it seems.
I don't think that's accurate lolrus, the i5 should support 1600+.
Don't spend extra on the i7 unless you know you need hyperthreading for some specific application you use frequently. The gaming performance difference is marginal at best. Buying an i7 also comes with higher prices on other components too, so its not just the $100 for the CPU, you have to get more expensive mobo, and RAM with it that aren't going to be any benefit for gaming either. I looked into it a lot when I built my PC a few weeks ago, so I'd recommend you stick with the i5 :]
Well, I sure didn't get it from Wikipedia.
I got it from Wikipedia.
get the his 5770.

Ok, I guess since the case is made of fans that'd work.
Does anyone have a good set of speakers (surround preferred) to tell me to get?
