• Recommended Video Card for a New Gaming Rig?

My dad and I are building a new gaming PC, but we're stuck on deciding which video card to buy. I'm looking that will be able to play relatively recent games, like Skyrim or Saints Row 3, but I'd also like to future proof for games like Grand Theft Auto 5 (if it does ever come to PC, I can't remember if it is or not :v:) and ArmA 3. I'd like it if it would last a bit further down the line, too. Here's what the video card has to work with: Processor: Intel i5-3570k Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 Gigabyte Power Supply: 550 Watts Hard Drive: 1 Terabyte WD Black OS: Windows 7 Pro It'd be a massive help if you could recommend a decent video card that wouldn't blow a gaping hole in our $1000 budget. Thanks!
1. 16 GB isn't necessary unless you're doing extreme multitasking and/or video editing. 8 is sufficient for your needs. 2. What's the make/model of the PSU you've chosen? 3. The only real form of futureproofing is money in the bank. Also, what's the current total of the build so far (sans a case and the video card)?
1. Point taken. We'll take that into account. 2. The PSU is an Antec Basiq BP550 Plus. 3. Point also taken. We'll put that into an account. :v: (Oh, I kill myself sometimes.) Excluding the video card and the case, we're at about $880 right now. (That estimate includes the 16 GB of RAM, rather than the 8 GB that you recommend.)

It's a really good overclocker too. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161405

With a breathing room of $120 (still with the 16 GB of RAM), I would definitely third a 7850 suggestion.
Okay, great! We'll probably go with the 7850, then. Thanks for the help, everyone!
