• $800 Gaming Build

This is what I've gotten so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/17mxp I'm trying to get it down to $800 and I'm seeing I could probably do that with the power supply, but I'm not as familiar with good quality PSUs under 600W. Any recommendations on how to make this build cheaper (mainly power supply)? The "estimated wattage" on that website only says 330W but I've seen people say they recommend at least 550W for the i5/660Ti combo. Also I already have RAM and OS, didn't forget it.
I don't think you can really go too much cheaper on that power supply without risking bad supplies or too low wattage. My suggestions are: 1. Go with the blue series WD instead of black. 2. Downgrade to a hyper TX3 cooler. 3. Get a cheaper Z77 motherboard. 4. Eliminate Optical drive completely if possible. I would also say go Haswell, as its only $15 more (with similar motherboard prices). This still won't drop you $80 (even excluding the Haswell option), and I doubt you can do so without changing the video card or going for a non-overclocking processor. Personally I would recommend just saving up, going with the suggestions posted above, and getting a Haswell i5-4670k, but its up to you.

How much of a difference is there between the two? 2. Okay. I don't plan on doing major overclocking so I guess this is fine. 3. If going for Haswell, any recommendations for cheaper boards? 4. Need it to install OS. Would the CX-500 be good enough of a power supply for i5-4670k + 660 Ti?
1. As far as I know its mostly just a speed difference, and I can't imagine it's that much. 2. :) 3. MSI-G41 109.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130695 4. :( can you install using USB? Not sure about the power supply one way or the other.
Not sure how to do it from USB if I have the Win7 install disc. Would I need to somehow extract the iso from my disc, put it on the USB and the new computer will just be able to boot the iso from USB?

And that tool will essentially be doing the process you just described except with a little extra formatting involved so its a bootable USB drive rather than just a drive with OS files on it.
I guess that could work then, plus I would be able to just download most drivers for other things I use, like my printer and whatnot. Taking out the optical drive will definitely help try to bring it to $800. What about the power supply though? Does anyone know if the Corsair CX-500 will be enough for i5-4670k + GTX 660 Ti? I always like having a bit of overhead just in case.

I don't know if I'm gonna get much hate for this but the cooler can be purchased later since the processor is gonna come with a fan. I still haven't gotten a cooler for my processor on my rig of two years and it's still fine. I know I'm fucking up.
