It is completely normal to grieve your loved ones but isn't really necessary to make it such a big deal. The talibans won't get media attention for shit and they are dropping like flies.

The only real reason why anyone cares among all the normal soldier death is that these guys were made into national heroes. Anybody in the unit, even those that weren't in the raid, are glorified in death now

They shot the meanest old man around, who hadn't even done anything of notice in the last years and only managed to create an array of splinter groups out of their enemies that are even harder to root out.
They only achieved some useless symbolic sort of revenge.

Right, because they didn't sign up to serve their country or anything, they clearly signed up just because they wanted to kill people of a different skin color, that makes loads of sense. And I suppose that explains why they died alongside several Afghan (you know, [b]brown skinned[/b]) troops?
