The law states that it is only illegal for minors to purchase alcohol or have beer purchased for them, but what does it say about minors brewing their own beer?
Probably not and its a dumb idea anyway, Unless you're looking to go blind.
How would you go blind from brewing beer?
How would you go blind from brewing beer?
I think he meant homebrewing rum wrong can make you go blind, cause it can.
Ahh. Here's a hint kiddies, beer can't hurt you unless yo get active yeast in your eye and that would be hilarious. I don't even know it eyes have enough sugar for yeast to eat.
I would say it probably is illegal, but then again, brewing =/= drinking necessarily. Not exactly a "debate" thread, though.
True. I'd make beer if I had the stuff. Got hops and barley anyone?
I'm pretty sure it's legal as you can pick up all the ingredients you need from the grocery Drinking your homebrew is probably another story but who's gonna know?
Well I mean you need to taste it.
Production is illegal. Buying is illegal. Selling is not illegal as long as you're over 18. Depending on the state.
It is probably illegal. There are always little laws that go unnoticed unless actively seeked out. Yeah, I don't think they'd miss something like this.
It probably implies possession which is illegal.
Well then I can get jumped for possession of alcohol anytime I'm in my house. Too bad they can't search it without a warrant.
This isn't a question for mass debate, this isn't something that can be debated at all, it's quite clear what the law says about something, go look it up rather than everyone here speculating
Depends on your states legislature. In some states to brew beer, you have to have a license first. Sometimes you can only get this license if you're of a legal age. In other places beer brewing in small amounts is unlicensed so in those area a minor can brew it. But not consume.
I'm pretty sure you need a license and other stuff to brew your own beer/wine.
this doesn't really belong in mass debate...

But is producing Moonshine illegal?
But is producing Moonshine illegal?
Moonshine is distilled and contains far more alcohol in it than beer. And homemade moonshine generally can be more toxic and lethal than homemade beer.
;36378236']Production is illegal. Buying is illegal. Selling is not illegal as long as you're over 18. Depending on the state.
Selling any kind of alcohol that isn't FDA approved is illegal in all 50 states, that's part of why moonshining is illegal. Ad Zarjk, producing "moonshine" is only illegal if you plan to sell it or the ATF decides you're brewing enough that the only thing you could do with it is distribute it. Shine is no more toxic than any other kind of liquor, the toxicity comes from people making it in stills with dirty car radiators for condensers or cutting the final batch with methanol to make it seem stronger.
