I have several addresses saved on my Newegg account. Without asking, Newegg decided to send me a "Random Act of Newegg" aka a 'free gift' (a shitty grocery bag). The geniuses there accounting for the possibility of multiple addresses saved on someone's account, decided that the best course of action would not be to consult the user first, but instead to randomly select one of the addresses. The address they fucking chose is an expensive automated transatlantic shipment forwarder intended for only the biggest purchases while I resided overseas. I can't cancel the forwardness in advance, so I contacted Newegg. I created an image to better detail my frustration with their Support reps and to highlight the fact that their lazy asses don't read the shit you type. I couldn't have made myself more clear to Emily. After 3 days, I still haven't got an email from anyone, does anyone know any direct emails to someone in Newegg who might be able to do something before it's to late? I'm not going to go on Chat again; she thought that the gift was just being sent to the wrong person when it was actually a wider Newegg policy. The gift they are adamant on sending me:
Well at least the bag looks radical also maybe you could call the fowarding guys and ask them not to foward the package
Probably would have been better to ask for the manager after the 2nd time Emily failed to understand your problem.
eggcellent bag
Maaan, i hate BenQ too ... At one time, i had to use warrenty to have a monitor exchanged because a bug got in the screen. Besides my two monitors i usually have, at one point i had four in total, with one still underway because of useless staff. ~15 emails.
also maybe you could call the fowarding guys and ask them not to foward the package

I can't cancel the forwardness in advance, so I contacted Newegg.
Trust me if I could I would've done that shit the moment they sent the gift out a so I wouldn't have to deal with Newegg's sorry excuse for support. While it's also shitty on the forwarder's part too in that I can't cancel an ongoing shipment, at the same time I don't think they accounted for electronic-based companies to just randomly send users fucking grocery bags, especially when there's more than one address on file.
I just walk into any computer store and price match hot deals on newegg. I don't like dealing with shipping.
Newegg almost ruined my family's Christmas one year. Basically they found out we had multiple accounts, so they told UPS to ship everything back ($2000 dollars worth) and they held our money until the items were back in their warehouse. We used to spend a grand or so through them every year, now we use Amazon or Tigerdirect.
Jesus christ what a stiff support.
Had multiple accounts, what?
Multiple Newegg accounts, they were all registered under my dad's name and for some reason that thought it was malicious.
Multiple Newegg accounts, they were all registered under my dad's name and for some reason that thought it was malicious.
Well that's fucking stupid. If you already paid for the products isn't that stuff technically your property or something? How can they just recall it once it's been shipped.
To be honest I've starting using Amazon far more than NewEgg. I'll generally just look at the super technical specs on NewEgg then just buy it from Amazon. (Like a GPU or somethin')
I think they should send you a Newegg Gift Card for wasting over 2 hours of your time. ... or something like that.
I just walk into any computer store and price match hot deals on newegg. I don't like dealing with shipping.
Too bad Newegg Canada prices are higher than Canada Computers prices plus there's shipping to pay for.
Been using newegg for years, spent thousands and usually spend hundreds at a time doing computer builds. Even had a line of credit though them and never had an issue. I've never seen them do anything like that OP, that fucking sucks. That is why whenever i have an address i don't use anymore i remove it from the account just in case something stupid happens.
Well that's fucking stupid. If you already paid for the products isn't that stuff technically your property or something? We just filed a credit card dispute and everything was solved relatively fast after that. What happened to us was probably just the misfortune of a hectic holiday schedule, but we'll never shop through them again and we were long time customers too.
Emily needs to be fired and black listed. Her inability to comprehend the most basic of concepts (in an environment she is specifically supposed to know something about; that's her fucking job) is frightening when you realize she has any capacity in the company, and therefore by extension an influence on your purchases and money. Those copy & paste apologies are simply insulting.
Does NCIX price match in the US like they do in Canada? If so, just use them. I've always found their support to be absolutely fantastic.
Newegg support is fucking terrible, and they're abunch of scam artist. I've ordered from them twice, and I'll never again order from them. I had a problem with them in the beginning of this year when I tried to buy a PC case from them, with three-day shipping. And for some reason, they shipped it to the wrong address. Upon contacting them, they tried to tell me they couldn't help me, and after threatening to charge back them. They told me I'd have to contact fedex. So I contacted Fedex, and they let me know that they could only hold it at the shipping center. (Which was about a two hour drive from where I live.) or that I'd have to contact newegg back and have them contact Fedex to change the address, due to neweggs policy. So, I went back to Newegg, and they started going on about how it was out of their control it, and they couldn't do anything. I even told them Fedex would change the address if they contacted them. Of course, they said they couldn't do it, so I told them to cancel the cancel the order and give me a refund. Which, they said they can do it, they'd email me and let me know when it went through. Waited a week, no answer back from them. I finally said fuck it, and simply filed a dispute with them on Paypal. While, this is going on. I go get a PC case from Frys, and built my PC. So, after two weeks of no word form Newegg. What arrives to my house? The PC case I ordered from Newegg, I call them up and ask them what the fuck, I had wanted the order cancelled. I was met with "But, it says here you wanted the order shipped to a different address." And I told them I originally wanted to, but I was told that Newegg couldn't have it shipped to another address, and told them to cancel my order. So, then they told me that they could switch addresses, and I just had to do was contact them, I told them I did that, TWICE, and then I asked them why they had a employee lie to me about it. Person on the phone tries to backtrack and assure me I wasn't being lied to, and that if I wanted a refund, I could get one. Which, I wanted one so they told me to ship the item back to them.. and I'd have to pay for shipping the 18lb box back to them. I had to fucking argue with the person about how they lied to me, and the fact that I also had paid for three-day shipping, and get her manager on the phone to finally get them to email me a prepaid UPS printout so I could ship the package back to them. So, another two weeks passed, I finally get an email from them saying it was received and nothing was wrong with it. I called them up, and asked about my refund again, inwhich they said they'd get it to me within the week. Week passes, called them up again, they said wait a bit longer, another week passes. Finally called them up and asked them where my refund was. And they said they couldn't give it to me because I had filed a paypal dispute, which for some reason, they couldn't contact me and tell me this was the the issue. I go to paypal, cancel the order. Call them up again, and tell them that I've cancelled it. They said the money would be returned to me within a week. Of course, another week passes, and they haven't contacted me or given me my refund. So I have to call them up again and they tell me that I haven't released the funds. I tell them I have. I even take a screenshot and email it to them. They back-peddle again and inform me then its paypals fault and I would need to call them up. So I did, paypal tells me the funds where released the day I cancelled the dispute, call newegg back and tell them that paypal released the funds to them weeks ago. Person on the phone tries to convince me that they don't have them. I finally have to cuss the dude on the other end and tell him to stop bullshitting me. Dude finally says that he'll check again, and of course what happens? Funds where magically in their accounts! And my refund was on it's way and it'd be returned to my account in a few days. Of course, even after all of this. My funds weren't in the account. Before calling them I made a complaint to the BBB, and I posted "Don't buy anything from these people. They're a bunch of thieves." on their facebook page. Right as I'm getting ready to contact them. I get an email from Facebook. It's newegg support and they want me to contact some PR manager with my complaint. So I do so. About ten minutes later, he gets back to me. Says he refunded the money.. Inwhich, I go look in my paypal. The payment was instantly made back. Of course.. They didn't give me back the money I spent on the three-day shipping. And he ask me to remove my complaint from their facebook page. (Of course, I don't because fuck them.) And they even have the gall to email me the next day and tell me my account won't be suspended because of the fact I filed a dispute. So, my advice is. Go bitch on facebook where everyone can see it and a PR manager will get to you.
-text-
I have two questions. The first is why do many people recommend buying from newegg rather than amazon? And the second question is how many weeks (or even months) passed between that time you payed for the case and the time you got it back?
well if they charge you the whatever is they charge you, you can just send them the receipts so theyll pay the shipping, since its not your fault.
I bought some components for a friend up in Canada. Well, when I say I bought, that's kind of a lie, because Newegg doesn't know what the fuck is going on. My first plan of action was just go to Newegg, buy the parts, and ship them up to Canada. No go. To ship to Canada, you have to buy from the Canadian website. Makes sense, cuts down on shipping costs to ship from a Canadian warehouse. Second attempt, I went to their Canadian website, found the parts (they have different sales so some of the discounts I had on the main site just disappeared) and started the order. Only problem - Newegg.ca does not accept payment methods that were not issued in Canada, so neither my debit cards nor my Paypal debit card would work. Strike two. Third attempt, I backed up and tried Paypal. No dice. Newegg.ca failed to accept my Paypal account because it was US-verified, not non-US-verified. Great. Fourth attempt, I figured fuck it all. Since I didn't have any money actually in my Paypal account, I told my friend that I wanted to buy them some computer parts for Christmas (thereby ruining any sense of it being a surprise) but they would have to send me an invoice through Paypal so I could pay by debit card to give them money so they could buy the parts on Newegg.ca. That worked. Only problem... the parts are eventually to be shipped out of the warehouse in California, which I live 15 minutes away from, thereby making the whole Newegg.ca thing entirely useless, and the parts are still jammed up in the warehouse, and haven't been shipped. However, since I didn't actually make the purchase, I can't go in and pick it up through will call (which I have done many times before and they are usually very quick about) and just ship it myself. Additionally, since it was ordered on Newegg.ca, my friend could not have it switched to will call pickup at that location. By the way, the big policy of "you need a driver's license and the original card to pick up will call" is a joke. The first time I went in there, I totally forgot to bring my wallet, and the guy signed the stuff over anyway with just the pickup sheet.
Looks like a fucking automated bot copy pasting what you said then say some random shits excuse :v:
For Canada, it's NCIX (west coast) or Canadacomputers (east), both are good.
To be honest I've starting using Amazon far more than NewEgg. I'll generally just look at the super technical specs on NewEgg then just buy it from Amazon. (Like a GPU or somethin')
Yeah, Amazon is usually a lot better than most other online retailers. Only problem I had with them was paying for 1-day shipping and UPS taking a fucking week to deliver the product. Other than that, it's usually worth it to spend the extra $10 on Amazon, if only for the half-decent customer service.
Lol she wanted to send you another shitty free item to compensate for the fuck up.
And here I was about to do my first decent PC build with parts I probably won't find locally, looks like Newegg can look forward to my business going elsewhere

Yeah. Not happening again. I'll buy locally or from Amazon here on out. In total, the entire thing, from making the purchase to getting my refund was like.. three months or so.
And here I was about to do my first decent PC build with parts I probably won't find locally, looks like Newegg can look forward to my business going elsewhere
See if you can find a Frys somewhere. I've always had postive experience with that store.
Considering newegg once thought I was some sort of fraud for ordering something at my friends' work place with specific permission(Since I had no permanent US residence) and several confirmations from his boss. It took them a week extra to get my stuff to me. I feel your pain [editline]aa[/editline]
See if you can find a Frys somewhere.
