The Israeli government has been accused of seizing land belonging to a Palestinian family and handing it over to be used for the new headquarters of a radical Zionist organisation. According to an investigation by Israeli news source Haaretz, the land has been given to Amana, an NGO which builds illegal settlements and outposts in the occupied West Bank. The group was formed as an offshoot of the messianic Zionist movement Gush Emunim, and is run by Ze'ev Hever, a convicted terrorist.

The Israeli government has helped Amana set up new headquarters on the land, Haaretz reported, without informing the Abu Ta'ah family that their land was being expropriated. Officials have been accused of redrawing existing property maps and hiding vital documents from the property's owners.

In 2005, Amana handed over 913,000 shekels (£168,000) to the Israeli government for the use of a large swathe of East Jerusalem land which the state had first expropriated in 1968. But in 2009 an additional 3000m² of land, which the Ta'ah family says belonged to them, was reportedly secretly added to the construction plans.
Recall posting a thread about the company involved before. Haaretz link is much more in-depth. Israel using legal facades to justify their criminal activity is no surprise. For example, Israel argues that it only demolishes the homes of Palestinians without permits, where they would then reallocate the land to Jewish people only (No, you have to be Jewish to be eligible for that type of housing as affirmed by Israel's Supreme Court). When Palestinians try to apply for a permit for their family homes that has existed and were built long before Israel was declared a State in 1948, over 90% of all Palestinian applicants are denied. So when Israel professes to the world, "They just had no permits" it makes it appear as if Israel is being consistent and possess some legal legitimacy in their actions. It doesn't appear to be like the Dictatorship of nation X where they can randomly and arbitrarily seize a home without reason— to hand it to a Jewish-only family— it instead appears as if Israel is putting forth effort to be legal about it and as if they are being consistent in their own laws. This also extends to their military conflicts in Gaza in which they routinely attempt to appear to be in compliance with basic and fundamental international and Geneva laws by employing world-renowned public relations teams defending their country and military that the world has never seen before. No other nation on the planet has a dedicated governmental team that is comparable to the one Israel has formed to improve Israel's image. There have been minor accusations of minimal shills for other countries like Russia or China, but no country is comparable to the brazen and open recruitment by Israel. There are at least three Israeli government agencies I can name off the top of my head that are dedicated to international image and recruit people. There is no other government of the world that openly brags about infiltrating university campuses in the United States. Try to find a pro-China organization led by its government infecting university campuses in the United States with the goal of improving China's public relations image. If you find one, the size of such a group will be so insignificantly small that it is simply incomparable to Israel's efforts in doing the same. This is even though China continues to boast a population of 1.357 billion people while Israel boasts a State the size of New Jersey. In revisiting how Israel justifies their actions to seem consistent of international law (and thus to appear "Western-like"), it seems Israel is beginning to become inpatient and has started to secretly alter legal documents. However— the end result is the same— Israel will continue to profess to be acting in accordance with what they attempt to profess as a "consistent" application of their own laws.
It is illegal to altar documents even in israel
I just looked them up, and Lamar remembered correctly. The Amana NGO was mentioned here before for being under investigation for forging ownership papers and buying real estate using Palestinian front men. It looks like they're currently under (another?) major criminal investigation, and a pretty big one at that. The police are code naming this "affair 243", and I'm seeing news from as recently as this April about high ranking officials in the NGO including the CEO himself being interrogated from funneling government money from other, legal channels into this NGO, including taking a healthy premium for themselves. It looks like a head of a West Bank council (like a mayor, I guess) has become state witness and is testifying against them. These dudes a pretty well connected to the current government, including Netanyahu, so if and when this case blows I expect some high ranking government members heads might roll. Or, more correctly, more heads, as this investigation appears to have branched from an investigation that already has several high ranking members of the Israel Beytenu political party (which was a member of the previous government) facing trial for, again, funneling government money into settler organizations and their own personal funds.
