Most normal trans people find these kinds of folks incredibly offensive and shitty. They take a legitimate and harrowing struggle that people go through and use quasi-academic language to adopt it so they can feel special. Pile that on top of people calling them "freaks" day in and day out and one can start to understand why the vast majority of trans people aren't actually parading themselves around social media, and just want to live their lives in peace.

I uh, mental issues or not, don't like to associate Otherkin and Therians with the LGBT movement. At all. I don't really think it's fair to put "~~*~I think I'm a fairy~~**~" in the same boat with transsexuals. I'd actually call it borderline offensive to consider it.
I wouldn't even call them, on any cases, attempting to discredit the LBGT movement either except for, as someone else said above, Boykin/Girlkin stuff.
