“We can’t be choosy,” said Enrique Escalante, the company’s CEO. A Mexican cement maker is ready to lend its services to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to build the wall he wants to erect on the southern border of the United States to curb immigration. “We can’t be choosy,” Enrique Escalante, Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Cementos de Chihuahua (GCC) said in an interview. “We’re an important producer in that area and we have to respect our clients on both sides of the border.” Republican Trump campaigned vowing to build a “big, beautiful, powerful” wall across the 2,000 mile (3,200 km) frontier in order to stop illegal immigrants from Mexico, which he accused of sending rapists and drug traffickers north. The campaign of the New York businessman who has never previously held public office was widely reviled in Mexico.
Fortune
Capitalist narcissism at its finest
The joke being of course that the wall will keep the Americans in rather than the Mexicans out. Now all Canada needs to do is build its wall and there will be no escape for any Americans.
Personally if I were Enrique Escalante I'd offer to do it for free. No better way to keep those filthy Americans out after all.
didn't stalin not have a pretty fitting quote for this? something like "when the time comes to hang the capitalists, they'll sell us the rope"
didn't stalin not have a pretty fitting quote for this? something like "when the time comes to hang the capitalists, they'll sell us the rope"
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
as edgy as it seems it's a good statement. a normal person wouldn't want the wall being built and it certainly doesnt help mexico in any way on having to build/help build the wall, yet people from mexico are voluntarily doing so.
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
It's dark, but not far from the truth. I live in a country where the sick and the dying are milked for every cent they have by the companies that make medicine to keep them alive to buy more medicine.
As if the wall will do anything to stop illegal immigration, everyone knows this and this here CEO is looking to make some mad bucks off the back of some fool.
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
Josef Stalin-- a man who manipulated and murdered his way into gaining absolute power over the Soviet Union and who exterminated 34-49 million people in his own country, including some of his own family members-- was an "edgy 12-year-old" for making an accurate observation about politics and economics? Alrighty then.
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
As much as i hate dictators like Stalin, Im fairly sure youre the edgy teenager in this instance.

If you escape your own country because you think its doomed then you are a coward.
Capitalist narcissism at its finest
Watch out, someone is against the idea of making profit.
Why would people need to escape? If you escape your own country because you think its doomed then you are a coward.
Persecution, war, crippling poverty, genocide? Wpuld you call the Jews who left Nazi Germany cowards? Those who left Ireland during the Famine cowards? Do you really think people should suffer in a country where their voice wont be heard? I was joking anyway...
Why would people need to escape? If you escape your own country because you think its doomed then you are a coward.
Not always. The common man usually has nothing to do with the bullshit that's befallen his country. Leaving just because Trump won is crazy but if the nation falls deeper and deeper into a nationalistic tantrum yeah fuck this place bye.
The joke being of course that the wall will keep the Americans in rather than the Mexicans out. Now all Canada needs to do is build its wall and there will be no escape for any Americans.
Planes
Well it makes sense, this way the Mexican economy can profit from it. I mean lets be honest the CEO of a cement company isn't going to be the type of person who's going to try and enter the US illegally so why the fuck would he care.
Planes
\ I'm sure russias willing to sell some SAMs to Canada
Sounds like something an edgy 12 year old would say, which I guess befits Stalin.
Stalin was a true edgelord, but he had style and wit befitting a statesman. Don't be dissing his mad zingers.

Alrighty then.
"Accurate observation"? ""when the time comes to hang the capitalists, they'll sell us the rope" isn't an "accurate observation", it's a shitty pseudo-intellectual sentence that doesn't actually mean much except "hurr capitalist is greedy!! look at my witty sentence that I wrote"

[editline]24th November 2016[/editline] if you believe the country is truly worth leaving, and you have the capability to leave, if you aren't selfish you should try to help others who are not as fortunate as you are to escape before yourself
"Accurate observation"? That being that capitalism is a system that's meant to sell everything, from guns, to healthcare, to propaganda, to news and truth and that that has a negative affect on things
if you have the power to leave, then you have the power to help those who are incapable of leaving. I think most people would help others, at least with their family and close friends.

Maybe something to do with global warming?
Watch out, someone is against the idea of making profit.
Watch out, someone is too edgy to realize economics isn't the only factor a business has to consider
It's not impossible to both leave and help those still there. I think most people would help others, at least with their family and close friends.
how so?
Why would people need to escape? If you escape your own country because you think its doomed then you are a coward.
Hahah, no. A realist. Only the fools and the proud go down with the ship.
