Pay-per-bullet-shot?
Pay-per-step-taken?
No matter what I'm automatically going to assume they'll keep on stuffing in shit to rob you blind, thanks to their two most recent blunders of games that has blatantly clear signs of executive meddling.
you have to buy an ammo surplus every time you run out of bullets
you can either pay per bullet or per ammo box (which holds exactly 300 rounds with every round priced at $3.99)
Never heard that one before
Gameplay-side "We have a team in Montreal that is building a brand new action franchise, probably for our Fiscal [Year] 2021 that also looks fantastic and very exciting. A new game, with a lot of new interesting gameplay that I don't think anyone's ever seen before." The Montreal title Jorgensen refers to is Jade Raymond's first project since heading up EA Motive, something the exec believes will give EA a foothold in a market where it currently lacks much presence.
Business-side "If you have a live service component to [games on EA Access and Origins Access], you can have a subscription that's uncapped," he said. "Give people a way to spend money on things they want to do and that they enjoy doing vs simply capping them at $9 or $10 per month and that's all they can ever spend. "We find people play twice as many games, they spend twice as long on them, and they spend twice as much money, because you've reduced the cost of trial to close to zero."
If you are confused with what they meant by "uncapped monetisation", they might attempt a subscription-based model that allows users to play an array of games, each with microtransactions supplemented to keep the service going. It is unsure if they will lower or demolish the initial price tags. To my understanding, anyway.
I want to make an FPS game that mimics the direction the games industry is going with, almost like a survival arena shooter
you start off with 10,000 "real life" dollars and every month you have to pay rent, food, insurance, etc, so you end up with like half of that. You have a weekly income of about 400RLD
in the game you will automatically be billed for every bullet you buy, including all magazines plus tax, every weapon must be purchased, all maps are unlocked this way and its all done using 8 different in game currencies depending on the "quality" of the item. You buy content that automatically appears on the map wherever you go that freezes you during gameplay and automatically bills your RLD credit card on agreement. Whenever your health is low you will automatically be billed to heal or respawn. NPC's will carry bonus content skins or weapons and randomly will open lootboxes in the field that will give you bonus bucks,
You are able to take out a small RLD loan of a quarter of a million every week as well, and have an unlimited dept ceiling.

Remember that time the former EA CEO talked about microtransaction 6 years ago?
"When you are six hours into playing Battlefield and you run out of ammo in your clip, and we ask you for a dollar to reload, you're really not very price sensitive at that point in time."
"A consumer gets engaged in a property, they might spend 10,20,30,50 hours on the game and then when they're deep into the game they're well invested in in. We're not gouging, but we're charging and at that point in time the commitment can be pretty high."
"But it is a great model and I think it represents a substantially better future for the industry."
Good times.
