• Need a nice case

Hey folks; I'm looking for a case that has most, or all of these traits. The price range is Less than $120 What it needs: •No sidewindow or fucking LEDs everywhere. I like to keep my PC on, without the annoying ambiance of blue LEDs blinding me when I suddenly wake up. •Quality airflow design. This includes a "chambered" design. Such as the main components being in a seperate "zone" than the PSU and HDDs. Or ample spots for fans. •Ease of cable management. Nothing screws with airflow with cables danging each direction •Im not baised. But black or silver... or two toned would do great. •ATX mid or full. •Water drainage systems, so when I douse the computer in water to keep it cool. [sp]that was a shit joke[/sp] Any suggestions? Please nothing that looks cheap and flimsy. Something stylish, simple and clean. Without it looking like a fucking Apple product.
HAF 922 or the NZXT Hades or CM 690 2. All have those qualities you listed.
The hades is nice.... However, I'm not a big fan of the protruding design, especially on the side panel. The LED lighting on fans, well.. i just don't like that. However, I'm sure the red would be very subtle. Any owners of this case can vouch for the build quality, design and other features of this machine?
I personally own the Hades. The way the case side bulges like that actually is rather nice for the case. Also, the red LED on the front is barely noticeable and not disturbing at all. And you are right, it's rather subtle. Quality is top notch, black interior and cable management ability is superb. The cooling ability is great as well. I have a .rar of pictures of it when I received it and put my machine into, if you would like it.
NZXT Phantom if you can wait a couple of weeks

If you could, send some of the pictures of the interior. For what newegg supplied in pictures, were kind of lacking. I think I might be ordering this one. Seems a bit extravagant. But aslong the plastic front isn't flimsy. From the things I've been seeing, NXZT makes a solid case. Also, could I get some shots of the front, especially the drive door. And where is the fan controller located?

Got it all off their site. This case (NZXT Hades) certainly seems what I'm looking for. You guys know what you're doing. :P Thanks.

Glad I got it. Here is my build pics, no idea why it's so big! http://www.mediafire.com/?psa1k1p42n100u3
Abs Aplus black pearl (I think that's what it's called) it's big, seperate heat zones, good airflow. It has a sidewindow though. Check it out on newegg. I think it's like 90 bucks.

i just got home and saw this.. dear god that thing is beautiful. A bit out of my price range for a case. but wow. [editline]07:55PM[/editline] Muffinman, thanks for your input. Even though, thats a very sleek looking case. However, most of the retailers no longer stock this item. I think the NXZT is surpassing my expectations at the moment. I just heard of this brand a few days ago when I ordered most of my components. Now Im just on the case to finish it off.. and when browsing through newegg, a few cases striked me nicely. Both of them Nzxt. Now, like I said, this isn't a brand I haven't heard of. I was going to get a Antec 900, and I said to myself "Shit, everyone has that". But I really loved the Whisper. However it seems as if it'll have weaker airflow... even with the chambered design. But no side vents; no good. You guys know whats up.. and hit my style. I think I'm going to be very pleased with this purchase.
You will be. No doubt about it.
i just got home and saw this.. dear god that thing is beautiful. A bit out of my price range for a case. but wow.
Yep, I've never seen a case quite like the Phantom. Can't wait to get it when it comes out in the UK :D
Sorry for the bump but, I want to follow up with the suggestions you guys made... First of all
You will be. No doubt about it.
I was at bit, very disappointed. The build quality seems a little shoddy. The moltex pins seem to become disconnected when you disconnect them (Especially the ground). And I had some minor issues with the power on button at first. I thought it was the silver button hidden behind the shroud. But it turns out, thats the restart button.. the power button is in the front. A bit strange in my experience... usually it was a "all in one button". After I had that all figured out, it runs VERY nicely. The fan controllers are fidgity.. and I can hardly see a difference in RPMs. I like my fans to be loud like my 5770's, this way I know they're cooling some shit down.. and possibly causing a vacuume in my room. But other than that? This case is strikingly beautiful. At night, prior to the machine going sleep itself, it emits this beautiful red glow from the front.. and the back it seems more intense. But not too intense. Its subtle.. but it looks evil in a way. The red light emits from the side, the back, and the top.. but just in the right portions. I am pleased with this purchase, I can't say it's the best case out there.. but its going to be up there. The cable management, is a bit shoddy.. took out those grommets where there is a lot of traffic. The temperature gauge, well.. it reverts to celcius.. but I'm used to monitoring my temps in celcius anyways. But other than that.. thanks for your suggestions. Especially ClaBrendon. The next build will hopefully be the phantom.. unless a sexier case from nzxt is slated then.

I don't even need a password anymore! They will never figure out how to start the computer! Ha! Also, yea for standard fan controllers they do the job. I expected more myself but they still push great air on high, so I'm content. Yes, couldn't agree more. I added more red to my case so it's way more than that. I like it that way though, still glad it wasn't "too" much for you, as you stated you didn't want to much LED light. Also, i found my cable management to be pretty easy and great. Grommets were stable and only needed a couple minor adjustments when I raged on pushing my big PSU cords through. Also, on the back of the door, push that thing that says C.F and it will change your temp monitor from C to F at will. Neat hidden feature. Or do you mean every start-up it reverts? Also no problem, glad you are pleased with it. Just one question, do you think it was worth the money?
You bought an NZXT case and are complaining about build quality. You got what you deserved

Hinge doors :froggonk:
Hinge doors :froggonk:
What, they cut down on noise significantly and hide mismatched optical drives.
You bought an NZXT case and are complaining about build quality. You got what you deserved
Have you ever owned one? My NZXTs have great build quality. Not all their cases are shit.
You bought an NZXT case and are complaining about build quality. You got what you deserved
Hey now. Don't be ignorant.
They just have a bit of a poor reputation, and in my opinion are plasticy and ugly
They just have a bit of a poor reputation, and in my opinion are plasticy and ugly
So you are jumping on the bandwagon. Get one and then make your own decision, until then stop talking shit about NZXT when you have no idea about what they are like personally.
They just have a bit of a poor reputation, and in my opinion are plasticy and ugly
The reason they have poor reputation is because people like you, not saying you're a bad person, haven't had experience with the cases and just go by word of mouth. Just don't prejudge things because of the name on them. Rosewill used to have a horrible reputation and horrible products, and I used to think very low of them. Now I own a Rosewill Destroyer and I love it to death. And thats totally cool if you don't like how they look, everyone has different tastes. If you went and read the reviews you'd see that people have been complaining about parts not fitting correctly, bits snapping off and defective power buttons. You wouldn't get these problems with a coolermaster case
If you went and read the reviews you'd see that people have been complaining about parts not fitting correctly, bits snapping off and defective power buttons. And honestly, reviews don't mean shit, specially Newegg reviews, unless you have owned one yourself and reviewed it like RichardSimmons did. Then make a decision on a brand.
I recently got a NZXT Lexa S, so far I like it MUCH BETTER than my old Antec 300. it's quieter, has somewhat lower temps (just by 1~2C), and is more sturdy (dropped my Antec's side panel and it dented, did the same with the Lexa S and not a scratch). sure the plastic door shows finger prints but with the lighting in my room it's not even noticeable. plus I got for for $40 with a $10 rebate it was steal in my opinion.

Anyways, there is a difference between owning one and knowing what it's like and then looking and just judging from others and a picture. But I do agree with you to some extent that some are bad. And no not 90%, I would say at least 60-70% are. Still doesn't mean it isn't prone to button failures or other things.

[editline]03:56AM[/editline] I'm sure I could make some stuff snap off a Cooler Master if I wanted to.
