• Dispite All The Airport Security, Boy Flies To Las Vegas, For Free
"Despite numerous checkpoints and gate agents, officials at Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport say a 9-year-old was somehow able to sneak through security and onto a Delta flight headed to Las Vegas." Pat Hogan, spokesperson for the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), confirmed the incident to KARE, but says it wasn't the result of an airport shortcoming. MSP officials say they've reviewed security footage and at this point do not believe he was carrying a boarding pass. The boy is believed to be a runaway from the Twin Cities area, according to KARE's report. And it apparently wasn't the boy's first misadventure at the airport. "MSP officials say he took someone's luggage off a carousel (on Wednesday), ordered food at a pre-security restaurant, asked the server to watch his luggage while he went to the restroom, but never returned," KARE says in its report. Terry Trippler, an air travel expert with ThePlaneRules.com, tells KARE that it shouldn't have been easy for the boy to make it the whole through the airport and onto the flight as a stowaway. "He had to pass three levels of security," Trippler says. "You have the TSA, the gate agents, and the flight crew and a child comes through without even a seat assignment." He says such cases are rare, but adds that "while we are safer in the air (especially since 9/11), this proves there are still gaping holes."
http://www.usatoday.com/story/todayinthesky/2013/10/06/9-year-old-boy-sneaks-onto-plane-flies-to-las-vegas/2931361/
How the fuck does this happen at a major International Hub?
that kid sounds smart as fuck
Home Alone 6 story confirmed.
Catch Me If You Can joke
How the fuck does this happen at a major International Hub?
TSA is shit at doing their job so no surprise that a 9 year old got past that part. Once the kid got past the TSA sneaking past a gate agent who is dealing with a line of adults twice the height or more of this tiny little kid is pretty easy to see happening.
that kid sounds smart as fuck
Or the Airport is just incompetent as fuck.
Or the Airport is just incompetent as fuck.
From my experience, the only way to get past the initial security checking point is to have a boarding pass/request (or if your an employee and have proper ID, in major airports such as Hartsfield-Jackson International airport, employees have their own line and checkpoints because the airport is fucking massive). In all honesty it isn't too hard to sneak past the flight boarding crew if your young, the only problem you might face after that is if the flight has a lot of passengers. If it is nearly packed, eventually, assuming all the passengers arrived, then they WILL notice that they exceeded capacity and start checking for boarding passes. The most likely thing that happened here was general incompetence.
MSP seems like a nice airport too, I'll be passing through for the 6th time in the past few months soon
Probably a lot easier to do as a kid than as an adult. And he sounds like he knew exactly what he was doing. At only 9 years old. Goddamn.
Most forms of security are a joke. If someone really wants to bypass airport security, they can and will.
but why was he running away.?
If you make every action with the persona of purpose, very few people will question you.
Hobbits can be ignored if they wish to be. Seems to be the case here.
How the fuck does this happen at a major International Hub?
I've heard it said that if you act like you know what you're doing, in just about any situation, then lots of times people just leave you alone and don't stop you. This kid apparently knew his way around the airport. Plus, he probably had an easier time just because he was a kid. Security may have assumed his parents were there somewhere.
Hobbits can be ignored if they wish to be. Seems to be the case here.
They get a racial bonus to stealth
How the fuck does this happen at a major International Hub?
I'd honestly be more surprised if it happened at a small single runway airport.
They get a racial bonus to stealth
That's very racist of you to say, I am offended.
They get a racial bonus to stealth
turns out this entire story is about a DnD game with a TSA agent as DM.
Well the boy did get caught so at least the security was working. If he didn't get caught, it would not made all over the news now would it. I bet there are hidden stowaways who have successfully get into airplane ride for free and has never got caught. If they got caught, they would be on the news.
If you make every action with the persona of purpose, very few people will question you.
aka "the shit you can get away with if you look like you know what you're doing"
nobody usually wont suspect a 9 year old to pull this shit off
I liked the restaurant-part, that's some damn A-level social engineering, and this kid is 9 years old.

cawifoouniah was waaaygas

I was told this was a hobbit. This is in fact, a gnome. But they get a racial bonus to stealth too iirc :v:

KEVIN!
MSP officials say he took someone's luggage off a carousel (on Wednesday), ordered food at a pre-security restaurant, asked the server to watch his luggage while he went to the restroom, but never returned

"You have the TSA, the gate agents, and the flight crew and a child comes through without even a seat assignment."
This kid is 9 years old. Among my class, I have classmates who are 17 to 18 years old. And yet they wouldn't be able to do this. This kid is either a fucking trained chinese spy hell bent on destroying America with con tricks, or my classmates are total dickwads.
I bet he later becomes an FBI agent.
I bet he later becomes an FBI agent.
I bet he already is an FBI agent. Just watch, he snuck through security on a mission to save the country. Probably the world. But nobody can know of his actions, because the public outcry would be massive. I mean, the FBI, recruiting children? What the public wouldn't ever understand, however... is this kid wasn't recruited, he applied... they accepted.
