What Is Radiotapes?
Radiotapes is a collection of Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota radio stations dating back to 1924, with thousands of recordings including some from today
Why Is This Important?
Radiotapes has a massive collection of historically important radio recordings, that can open up parts of history that we don't understand/know little of

I love things like these Civil Defense messages from the 1960's
The man announcing the attacks on Pearl Harbor is incredibly well composed, very professional. I can't even imagine how such an event would be handled if it happened today.
Probably lots of dramatic music and colorful graphics.
Here's one from 1982 where the DJ talking about the "backwards message" in rock music controversy. If you know what I'm talking about, its nothing new, obviously. Just sort of interesting.

"...if your car is not full, pick up others"
Apparently there was a pirate dance radio station called Beat 97.7 in 1996 that got pulled off the air because it didn't have an FCC license, but they couldn't apply for a license because the transmitter wasn't powerful enough.
That's a little fucked.
These are pretty damn good quality aswell.
I'm assuming these are remastered?

I would err on the side of no. Or at least, not all of them. I've heard quite a few that have a lot of static and noise. Possibly the more historically significant ones may have been cleaned up.
