Thousands queued for the opening of the Harry Potter theme park, where they were greeted by the films' stars, including Daniel Radcliffe. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened at the Universal Orlando Resort in Florida on Friday.
Universal Orlando spokesman Tom Schroder said 5,000 people were waiting to get in before the park opened.
Radcliffe said the park, based on JK Rowling's hugely successful novels, was the "next part of the Potter legacy".
Aerial photos showed thousands of people waiting to enter the park for the first time. On Twitter and other forums, they joked that the park had become "Harry Potter and the Endless Line".
The 20-acre site includes rides, shops and reproductions of the fictitious village of Hogsmeade, the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the Hogwarts Express train.
Seriously? I wish they'd make a Pixar theme park someday.
This is stupid.
I've always said to make a Saving Private Ryan laser-tag ride but nobody listens to me.
The only ride I want to go on is Hermione :q:

Nevermind.
I can't really see this being that popular in coming years, didn't the author finish the series? they might as well make a pokemon theme park cause that shit will never die, they just keep adding pokemon and handheld games.
I want to ride the flying car, granted that it doesn't crash into a living tree.

But it's ok if it crashes into a dead tree?

Aren't all trees living?
Yes, but all trees don't have faces like the one in Chamber Of Secrets, or flexible arms for that matter.

Not the dead ones. :v:
How many rides could there be..? :\

If that's a theme park then my ass is the Worlds Fair
There already is.
*Pokemon park image*
Other than the occasional pokeball, it looks just like a plain old carnival.

I bet tickets are cheap
I can't see this park surviving much longer than a few years.
Wont be going back to Universal Studios as long as there is no Back to the Future Ride. I really only like the Jurassic Park area, but that is not worth the price of admission. I prefer the Disney Parks.
Not a Potter person, but this looks interesting.

How can you prefer Disney to Universal? There's like 4 rides worth waiting for in all 4 parks combined.
I really really wanted this to come out when I was younger, but it's too late.
At least they didn't make a Twighlight-themed park. :tinfoil:
So it's like a Renaissance Fair except with Wizards?

Pixar is under Disney's control. The only thing Disney has done for Pixar is make 4d movie centers and that Toy Story rail car game for the Park. They avoid trying to have the park be based on one movie, but just mix in movies that are similar in over world theme.

I'd like to ride your theme park please :q:
It might sound stupid, but I know a LOT of people that have been looking forward to this for a long time. They're going to make a lot of money on this.
Nooooooooo the world is nearing its end... 0.0!!!

There should be a time thing that stops new members joining until they've clocked up enough time lurking on the forum, just so they can see what other people actually do in terms of making good posts. And it might give them time to grow up a bit too.
And why has the theme park opened in the US? Surely since the films and books come from the UK we should be the first place to get a theme park about it?

Would it surprise you when I say he has played 253 hours of MW2
What will make this themepark differ from the other great ones, like Universal Studios? Or Waterland or whatever it is called in Orlando

XD why would you really look into my steam account. its not that important is it? i was just joking anyway. i bet the creators of the theme park are going to pull in alot of money from this. and yeah why make a theme park on it. it would make more sence to make it an extension of a larger park. for a larger audience but hey. what every they want. there paying for it
