ISIS are accustomed to shock and awe, several hundred of then are veterans of the Chechen wars. Israel might be brutal with institutionalised violence but the Russian war on Chechnya was bloody, at times with 1 soldier for 6 civilians, Russians were dealing with ieds and school bombing long before America's war on terror.

If true it's sadly pretty smart, Israel will get involved which will be a problem for Syria, Iraq, and Iran. And nearly everyone else around there. Oil and water comes to mind.

I was under the impression ISIS was avoiding messing with Israel for much the same reason they were avoiding messing with the Kurds, namely that they don't want to become embroiled in a battle with an incredibly efficient and brutal fighting force with their position in Iraq not yet secure.
