Leslie Jones Website Goes Offline After Massive Hack, Personal Info Leaked
he website of Leslie Jones was hacked on Wednesday morning and private information, including her driver's license and passport, were posted. The personal site went offline after the hack. Along with the information, private photos were also posted. Jones, who recently starred in theGhostbusters reboot, has been the target of vile, racist pictures and remarks since the film opened in July.
The abuse became so frequent that Jones left social media for a while before talking to one of the founders of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, who suspended conservative activist Milo Yiannopoulos, whose followers sent hateful messages to the star.
In the hack of Jones' website, references were made to Yiannopoulos getting kicked off Twitter, spurring speculation that it was done by his followers.
In a statement to THR, Yiannopoulos responded: "I'm distressed to hear that Leslie Jones has been hacked and naked pictures of her have been posted online. I know we had our differences after my review of Ghostbusters but I wish her all the best at what must be a deeply upsetting time."
How exactly was her passport posted online?

Why would she.. Just why would she have them on her website, or somehow connected to it?
I'm more than a bit puzzled that pictures of her driver's license and passport were hosted on her personal website.
What use do those have?

She's not a smart comedian

Why in seven fucks would you have your passport and your DL hosted on a personal website?! I mean, shit, it's horrible she got hacked like that, but come on hun. Basic cybersecurity 103: Don't upload anything you don't want getting hacked and leaked, cause it will eventually get hacked and leaked.
Here's hoping she can stop any ID theft damage before it starts, and that the perps are caught.
Why would you have any of this on your website.
its fairly common for people to use inaccessible parts of their websites for storage
not good, but common

People who are this high profile can't afford to do that at all though.
It was painfully obvious she has a terrible agent or just no one that actually advises her but this is mental. If she has an agent she needs to get a new one ASAP who will actually look out for her.
I wonder if Baphomet or Kiwi Farms is behind the actual hack.
It is very strange that they had access to this material though.

I can think of some documents I'd store on a site but certainly not my passport and drivers license. I guess she never expected someone malicious and skilled enough to compromise her like this though.

Props to Milo at least.
Welp, the nudes are real. I was hoping Milo was just trolling but nope. Why the fuck would you store your ID, passport, and pics of you getting dicked in the ass on your website. How monumentally fucktarded do you have to be.

The person who manages the website should know better.
How the hell is someone stupid enough to put any government paperwork or ID up online? Someone should start a security 101 for what not to do on the internet.

iirc getting verified twitter sometimes requires it
putting on your website is mildly safer than uploading it to imgur

It's kinda fucked up she got hacked though, right?
From the article it doesn't sound like she was hosting her docs on the website itself, so it's likely that she had a self hosted email account on it and that was used to get to whatever cloud storage she had the images on. Or she just used the same password for everything.
Yeah the photos are from her iCloud, not the website

It's kinda fucked up that she thought it would be a good idea to store nudes and vital personal info online.

It is super fucked up. And so is all the victim blaming.
This is pretty fucked up. Being in a bad movie shouldn't open you up to this kind of abuse.
holy shit look at all the victim blaming in this thread. it's truly awful that this happened to her
I feel genuinely bad for Leslie. She seems like she's had the least exposure to the typical internet hate shit out of any of the ghostbusters actors, so that last attack on her social media must have really rattled her. This though? This is fucked up, even if you take a jaded "this is just the internet" approach to it.
It's a real shame because (in my opinion), Leslie was one of the stronger parts of the new ghostbusters movie, surprisingly. If you're going to take a mindless, dumb, "ghostbusters is bad because women" approach to the movie, then Leslie deserves the least of any of this.
also to everyone bitching about "victim blaming", is it possible to acknowledge she was the victim of an attack and also that she probably shouldn't have had images of her being drilled in the ass hosted on her website?
holy shit look at all the victim blaming in this thread. it's truly awful that this happened to her
It sucks ass when people are willing to go this far to harm you but to be quite honest it doesn't look like they had to go very far at all.
She didn't deserve it despite being a dumb, rude cunt but the fact she's a dumb, rude cunt sure as hell isn't going to make me feel sorry for her.
It is super fucked up. And so is all the victim blaming.
No one's blaming her, they're wondering why Leslie put something in a vulnerable place that's very confidential.
And it is pretty fucked up, I know that the remake of Ghostbusters was a tragedy but harassment is already too far, this is just abhorrent.
It's kinda fucked up she got hacked though, right?
Yea it's super shitty to have your privacy invaded like this but it boggles my mind why you would ever host that shit on the internet.
Victim blaming? Why would you store your nudes on Internet? It's bound to be trouble
re: why would you put nudes on the internet???
a lot of this stuff happens automagically
and if you send nudes to somebody (normally the purpose)
guess where iCloud keeps them (hint its in the name)

if I take a pic of my dick its going to end up in the #cloud the next moment I hit wifi

okay but the icloud didn't get hacked
her personal website did
Now to wait for some schmuck to scream it's all the fault of ghostbusters critics.
I mean, I do feel bad for her. Nobody should have to experience this shit but at the same time I gotta ask, why the fuck was that kind of shit stored on her website?
