There are a lot of requirements if you want to vote in Kansas. You must be 18 years old. You need to show a photo ID at your polling place and show proof of U.S. citizenship when you register to vote. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights says the state's voter ID laws are among the strictest in the nation. But when it comes to the rules about who can run for state office? There are no rules. "Under Kansas law, there is no law governing the qualifications for governor, not one," Bryan Caskey, director of elections at the Kansas secretary of state's office, told The Kansas City Star last year. "So there's seriously nothing on the books that lays out anything, no age, no residency, no experience. Nothing." So into the race jumped Jack Bergeson. Calling himself an anti-establishment candidate, 17-year-old Bergeson is pursuing the Democratic nomination, advocating for a $12 minimum wage, legalization of medical marijuana, and high-speed rail for major cities in the region.
Source: https://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2018/02/09/584678163/kansas-scrambles-to-change-rules-after-6-teens-enter-governors-race
Lol, this will be a good laugh.
The article explains that they are trying to pass a law, but it won't take effect until after the elections. As the law is currently interpreted, I am pretty sure I can live in North Dakota and run for the Governor of Kansas.
SIX TEENS GET DESTROYED [HQ]
Still better than Brownback.
Theoretically, with zero laws preventing it, the governor of say neighboring Missouri could run for the governorship of Kansas while still in office. Donald Trump could run for governorship, even. Hell, let's write in a petition for BDA to be governor
Hell, let's write in a petition for BDA to be governor
Finally, we can make our dream of outlawing anime avatars come true

(I'm guessing there's some implicit rule that requires US citizenship, but lmao imagine if)

To be honest, the teens got a better idea of whats needed than the actual politicians
Nope Sinaloa Cartel for Kansas governor 2k20
Random Bollywood cast for Kansas gov 2020
Here is how Bernie can still win:
Lol, this will be a good laugh.
Can't be worse than brownback
How about Coca Cola in the drinking fountains? Will this representative be able to stand for me on this point?
There's no rule that says a dog can't run for office.
Can inanimate objects run? I nominate a slightly stale sponge cake.
Can't be any worse than Cubeman
Can't be any worse than Cubeman
don't jinx it, they could kill two people in an illegal street race
don't jinx it, they could kill two people in an illegal street race
Holy shit what
Holy shit what
Cubeman was involved in illegal street racing with his "fuck me daddy" Dodge Compensator, a person died and as a result the cops took his Google Glass as evidence because it may have had video on it. The loss of his high tech contraceptive caused our boy Cubeman to go into a mouth frothing rage as he ranted about it here on the forums. Cubeman would later go on to secure maybe the vote of just his mom and whatever other family members felt really sorry for his failure of a political campaign. Where are they now? No clue. Probably still "growing up" in Yonkers.
Can't be any worse than Cubeman
and that's why we should put his name forward
A vote for me is a vote that isn’t going to Brownback and that’s really all anyone in Kansas can look forward to nowadays. Vote for me!
Disappointed that this is 6 teens running as separate candidates and not 6 teens hiding in a trench coat running as one candidate.
Tsk. Funny thing about Kansas is the Koch conglomerate and aerospace companies are the governor, if you think anything will change for Kansans that don't live in Wichita or Kansas City your sore wrong.
FUCK YEAH! ICE TOWN HERE WE COME!!!
Real talk though is it too late to sign up? Because I'll sign my name on the ballot for Kansas Governor too. A vote for me is a vote that keeps you from gettin' clamped, if you get what I'm sayin'..
I live in Kansas, maybe I should run...I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
I live in Kansas, maybe I should run...I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
I recommend stocks and an associates of applied science in automation, CNC, or Robotics, all degrees that can be applied no matter where you go. I'm too poor to do both stocks and education at the same time so maybe you can achieve the ideal ratio. Best case scenario you're working with Exxon or Koch Industries as a automation Engineer with a long leash due to the rarity of automation experts. Well this is my plan anyway. May not work for you but who knows.
I live in Kansas, maybe I should run...I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
Worst that could happen? You could end up Governor of Kansas, that sounds pretty shit tbh.
