A TEENAGE boy who screamed threats to ‘slaughter the Christians’ outside a school in Sydney’s west has been charged with intimidation and offensive conduct. Police allege the 14-year-old boy from Wentworthville was sitting in the passenger seat of a car when he yelled the abusive comments while waving a flag outside Maronite College of the Holy Family in Harris Park last Tuesday. Onlookers were left shaken and terrified after a nun told police the boy was waving a flag that resembled the IS flag and had threatened to “slaughter the Christians.” College spokesman Joseph Wakim said at the time the school community was shocked but stressed no students were around when the threats were made and the incident was an isolated one. Police later visited the school to speak to students and review CCTV footage of the incident. Yesterday, police from the Rosehill local area command arrested the 14-year-old boy and charged him with intimidating a school staff member and offensive conduct. The media really needs to stop reporting this shit. Not only is it aggravating unjustified Islamophobia (all over my newsfeed on Facebook and I'm sick of it), but it is actually giving potential terrorists an even better reason to perform terrorist attacks given how much media attention even the smallest things get. Although I didn't vote for his party, I was patient with Abbott as our PM but not after he started to make a big deal about terrorist threats; it's ultimately going to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. I remember seeing on the news yesterday something about MPs and Ministers closing their blinds while in their offices at parliament because of potential 'terrorist snipers', but I gotta say I would have never thought that would be a rather ideal way to carry out a terrorist attack until the media mentioned it!
Go shove the crazy bastard in prison. Teenager or not, i don't care.
What did the flag look like? The story just sounds like two idiots. Yes, he should be arrested for yelling threats like that but I don't think it's noteworthy. As soon as you namedrop ISIS it's a thousand times scarier and more sinister, but in fact it seems like this guy isn't affiliated with them at all.
Sounds like a stupid kid doing something incredibly stupid.
I wonder what he actually said. Screamed nonsense can be easy to misinterpret. He could have just been preaching the Qu'ran. I mean, it's easy for people to misinterpret the subtlety of the Qu'ran's teachings. Like here, in Qur’an 9:5, "Kill the nonbelievers wherever you find them." This doesn't mean what you think it means. It's actually very cleverly written, and will confuse the unenlightened. But I'm sure this 14 year old knows what it means. In fact, it's easy for people to miss the subtlety of a lot of things. For example, I was being sarcastic with regards to the Qu'ran being subtle.
>unjustified
Saying ISIS sympathisers are representative of Islam is like saying the KKK is representative of Christianity. The Islamophobia that has been making rounds recently is generalising a massive group of people based on the actions of a tiny minority.

Islamophobia is just a bigoted side effect, and it should be looked down upon, but because of the side effect it should not call for the censorship of news.
Yes but you shouldn't censor reporting on news because it aggravates some people.
And its probably better people learn from official sources than all the "alternative" media making it out to be some cia/jewish/illuminati/reptile/aztec/Atlantian conspiracy or being told lies by the terrorists themselves. But the whole grief porn "Look at these devastated people" or gore porn "look at these bodies!" thing needs to end. The media are like vultures.
Dumbass.

Every state is concernced because of the ISIS threath at the moment and this fucker screams genocide from a car while waving what was apparently an ISIS flag. He can rot in prison for all I care, he sounds like a fucking awful person. Terrorists don't need reasons for attacking someone because they can't think. If they could form one coherent thought they'd be somewhere else.
of all places i don't get why there's so many IS supporters in oceania
of all places i don't get why there's so many IS supporters in oceania
They are even in North America, some coworkers of FPer's family members have died over seas fighting for IS
well, that state of alertness only proves terrorism works
