My monitors aren't getting any signals from my computer, I've tried my default monitor, my small tv, and my large tv. The computer still boots up, but I don't get a display. The computer also no longer turns off or restarts from simply pressing the button on the tower, instead I have to flip the switch on the back. Odd thing is, it was working perfectly fine the night before, but the next morning it did the above. My specs are: VC: Radeon HD 7850 Power Supply: Corsair CX 500 CPU: intel Core i3 Motherboard: Asrock z75 pro3 OS: Windows 7 Hard Drive: Hitachi 1TB
Do you get the usual 'beep' that signals that signals POST shortly after turning it on?
Do you get the usual 'beep' that signals that signals POST shortly after turning it on?
Nope, nothing.
Does it normally? Also how experienced are you with taking a computer apart?
Ok so lights start, burning and fans start spinning. PSU, Mobo and CPU are hard to check, but probably not at fault. You can easily check your RAM and GPU. RAM: -Remove all ram. --Check for beep signal. -Place one stick back. --Check for beep signal. -Replace stick with another. --Check for beep signal. GPU: -Remove GPU. --Plug in screen to onboard GPU. -Start pc.
Sometimes this means your mobo is dead if you don't get any response from the machine. Or you're not getting enough power to it. Check if everything is still plugged in and seated correctly.
Did you solve it? If not i'll have to respond to taipan: It may very well be the CPU. If there is no beep function on the mobo it will be impossible to tell. I had the exact same problem, and since my mobo have no beep function it was hard to find out, but it turned out to be the CPU. If you still got problems, try a different CPU if you can get one.
