Sound settings wont change or enable/disable.

Okay. So this has been happening for awhile. and heres what i do.

I click "Playback Devices" and i try to set AMD HDMI output or the other HDMI option to default.

But when i click default nothing happens... Also clicking disable or test doesn't work..

I'm apparently using VIA HD Audio Deck (its what i found on my hidden icon bar)... And when i open that up it doesn't even mention HDMI or AMD HDMI output.

Also on the AMD HDMI output it says "No Audio Device is installed" when it is running through the HDMI I'm using to write this write now.

The red circles are what I'm attempting to set as default... This picture can supply for what happens after i lcick set as default for another option..

Going on VIA HD audio deck and setting other things as default just makes them all the selected color as if they all were!

It will automatically enable when an HDMI cable is plugged in.

What you said was sort of the answer.... I had to go into my flat panel monitor settings and enable it. Also i apparently had a broken installation of my sound drivers for VIA HD Shit deck.
