• CRT Projector for Bedroom Theatre - Your thoughts?

Hello all, I'm planning a retrofit on my entertainment setup for my bedroom (more like a studio with a bed strapped in it) and I stumbled across some CRT Projectors and here's what I've noticed about them: - They offer a better contrast ratio and colour compared to LCD and DLP projectors (Like the more modern Laser Projectors/OLED TV) - They're highly modular - Has a longer operation life, again comparable to more modern Laser Projectors - But requires more maintenance according to some people Do you think I should get a CRT Projector; like the Barco Cine 6 or Sony G70? Or should I get a more modern DLP projector? I'm not kidding myself here, I know they're larger/bulkier, heavier and require a ton more energy then their DLP/LCD counterparts, and considering the size of the screen (40", or a viewable size of 90x51cm) and the distance from the pillow of the bed to the screen itself is only around 150cm - I'm really on the fence on this one and I would love to hear what you think on this... unique proposition for a bed theatre thing.
CRT projectors are prone to burn-in, making them unsuitable for PC desktop use. If you're just going to be watching movies in bed on a 40" viewing area, there is no reason to get a giant CRT projector. In fact I would just recommend a plain old TV at that size, it will be significantly less expensive.

But I can get a custom pull down projector screen relatively easily in comparison.
CRT projectors are prone to burn-in, making them unsuitable for PC desktop use.
I'm not gong to use this for desktop use... I have a desktop right next to my bed for that job. The projector's job is more for games and video watching rather then production use. And for that I'm wondering if I will be able to use a CRT Projector which has better contrast and colour reproduction generally then DLP projectors, or is the bulk/weight of the CRT Projectors make it unsuitable for a bedroom that will have some wood screwed into the frame of the house above a plasterboard ceiling, and should go with a DLP Projector...
Those projectors you are looking at are 32 kilos and 83 kilos respectfully. If you have the slightest hint your ceiling can't support it, drop the CRT projector idea and go for DLP. You won't get the same quality but it beats having your entire ceiling come crashing down on you.
No. Because it's heavy, it just exposes you to radiation and it's old
