Made a post about a month ago about my monitor not turning on after cleaning it. I figured out i bent my pins on my cpu. Today my new processor came, AMD FX-6200 Processor, 3.8 6 Socket AM3. After putting the CPU into the mother board and putting the bar back down to lock it in, the bar seemed to have no resistance to it. I put the CPU fan on, and clamped it in and made sure it was connected to the mobo. Put everything back together, and the monitor gives me the same error, "No signal."
So did i just fry the new cpu?
Your board supports AM3, just not FX. I'd see if you can return the CPU and get another one.
How about the motherboard? throwing a fx processor into that wouldn't fry it would it? Im gonna return it back to amazon, and just get the phenom x4 am3 socket, and downgrade.
it shouldnt fry anything, just send back the FX, get your money back and buy an used phenom II X4 just make sure which model you buy, that your motherboard supports it (some phenom II X4 are for am2+ socket)
