• HTC Touch Pro 2 - any good?

I currently have the HTC Touch Pro, but I dislike it for many reasons. It completely locks up at least once a day making it impossible to do anything on it until I reset it. Windows Mobile is also kind of buggy. This is the main reason why the phone locks up. However, besides the instability, what WM does have are thousands of apps and programs that I find fun to toy with. One of the most useful programs I have found for my HTC Touch is one that makes it into a mobile hotspot; something that I have not seen on any other phone and a feature I have used many, many times. In other words, I like Windows Mobile regardless of all the shit it's given me. Anyways, back to the question. Is the HTC Touch Pro 2 any good? I've read reviews on it, but they're a bag of mixed nuts like every other phone. I can't get a clear cut answer other than the battery is lacking (more-so than the Touch Pro which has an annoying battery life). I've had a Blackberry, and I loved it, however it was slow and also had it's own issues. Besides that, it completely lacked the programs and "power-user" features that WM has. In other words, I won't be going back to Blackberry unless there's a compelling reason to. As for an Android based phone, I think there are only two our for Sprint at the moment. If anyone can give some input on those, I'd be happy to hear since I am quite torn between Android and WM. As a note, my service is Sprint. I can't get an iPhone or any other GSM based phone. I am not going to switch carriers, so don't even bother.
HTC HD2 is way better.
Windows Mobile is terrible, But it can get awesome with tweaks and hacks from the XDA bros, also WM based devices, specially HTC ones are perfect for emulation, more than any other mobile OS out there
This. I have the G1 now, a HTC Dream. I absoloutely love it, but for what my old HTC Touch was worth, it doesn't hold a candle to it. I loved that little phone.. :(
I'd say go for a HTC HD2, and to the people talking about WM is shit; I was talking to a guy on IRC at #android and he was able to boot the HTC HD2 into android (via micro SD card), though some slight bugs like multi touch and things. But it is an option as he said it was usuable as a primary alternative.

dropped my g1 in coffee 2 days ago. rang 'fonesafe' and apparently they've stopped making g1s. so under my insurance policy - i pay £25, and get a g2 for free. BOOYAH.
I've got a G1 and Android is great. The G1 is a little underpowered by todays standards so I wouldn't advise that particular model, especially with the Motorola Milestone/Droid and similar phones being available. Android has a ton of useful and cool apps and the market only seems to be getting bigger - I've used Windows Mobile too and it just seems too buggy, slow and not optimised enough for touch screen. I'd advise an Android phone personally.
