That's it: this little machine is growing a mind. Backstory: I just went out of the shower, when my cellphone emitted a familiar "Beep! Beep!". It was a text message from a friend I had not heard in a while. I forgot about my wet hand, and proceeded to reply. Apparently this wasn't a bright idea: the water temporarily screwed up the little keyboard, and some keys were not responding correctly (the Delete acted like the Up key, 3 decided to be the new 7, stuff like this), so I decided to dry it out with a hairdryer. It worked perfectly and no other problems were had... ...until when, a few minutes ago, the phone placed next to my keyboard gave out a "booop... boop boop boop" noise. It was dialing. I open the screen and notice that somehow it managed to dial "3333". I wasn't touching it when this happened. I'm serious. So I found the most logical explaination to this weird phenomenon: it's developing some kind of self-consciousness. I'll now proceed to treat him like an overlord, hoping he doesn't unleash his army of robots on humanity. I'll also update this thread with news... if he allows me to. All glory to our new lord and master. (and yes, I found him a little throne. I figured he wanted something comfy to rule the world from...)
Exorcism.
The machines man...
you've got ghosts, call ghostbusters
snip Became a fad, don't want to support it (convert it to communism)
You're holding it the wrong way.
Exorcism.
Tried to show him a cross. He didn't even blink.
Get him an hot female phone, that should make him happy.
you've got ghosts, call ghostbusters
I can't, he does not allow me to seek for help.
Get him some followers to do his dirty work.
My phone does this all the time. It'll turn itself off (not just when it dies, but it'll do it randomly even with a fully charged battery), will spam random numbers when dialing, and even when it's just sitting there. No clue why it does this.
Is it ringing too? Yeah phones do that sometimes, it's crazy it's like people are trying to talk to me from the other side...
It's only just begun. May Christ be with you.
I can't, he does not allow me to seek for help.
what kind of phone doesn't let you phone!?!
Make sure to offer him the blood of 100 babies.
Get him an hot female phone, that should make him happy.
Will try. Until then, I tried to satisfy his requests for food. He seems pleased.
My phone does this all the time. Oh dear

Run, run away very fast :tinfoil:
Strange. It happens to my phone too. It just launches poker texas holdem and vibrates furiously. Skynet?
Keyboard is acting dizzy again. I tried to answer a call and it did not respond until the 5th attempt. And the "close call" button only dialed the number 3 again. :tinfoil:
Yeah, well my phone can dial 5 3's, all on its own. Soon it'll be out of nappies too. Ha!
One of my old phones used to do stuff like that, I eventually found that about half the time it had some correlation with the battery being nearly dead or I hadn't rebooted the thing enough. The other half I chalked up to it being a shitty phone and was immensely glad to donate it to the electrical engineers for their senior design project when I was able to get a new one. My favorite thing was whenever I'd open it it would ALWAYS call my cousin.
My phone likes to decide whether or not to send my text message.
It seems as if a sort of hivemind thing going on. About a month ago my phone also started acting strange. It would constantly take pictures all through out the day. I've got a million different pictures of the inside of my pocket, my ceiling, my hands, etc. I think it is trying to become aware of it's surroundings. Or at least was, since it went through two wash cycles a few days ago. He's a persistent little fucker though. He works just fine, except for the camera which no longer works. I managed to blind him before he became too aware of the world around him. Of course he'll probably develop telepathy within the next few days or manage to take over my other electronics. Going to keep an eye on him. You should do the same with your phone.
My mp3 player had a similiar problem. I got water on it, and wiped it off and let it dry. But it was no use, my "lock" slider that also doubles as the power button, has now gained a 3rd trait. The next track button. Now half the time when i try to lock the damn thing, it skips ahead a few tracks... or turns off.
And now you know not to play with water!
Teach it Russian and convert it to communism Do it
He recruited the camera as his henchman and named it Liberty Prime. I don't think the whole communism thing is going to end well.
Take their batteries out. No communist deserves a battery.
Take their batteries out. No communist deserves a battery.
They pretty much stated their completely anti-communist positon. He says there is no excuse for not getting the Liberty Prime reference. I'd run if I were you.
