Seconds from Disaster - one of the most interesting and intellectual looks at disaster

"Seconds from Disaster is an American documentary television series that aired from July 6, 2004 to March 7, 2007 on the National Geographic Channel. The program investigates historically relevant man-made and natural disasters. Each episode aims to explain a single incident[1] by analyzing the causes and circumstances that ultimately affected the disaster. The series uses re-enactments, interviews, testimonies, and CGI to analyze the sequence of events second-by-second for the audience. Seconds from Disaster was broadcast on the National Geographic Channel and consists of 45 episodes over 3 seasons. Following its conclusion, the series was promptly replaced with Critical Situation."
Basically, this series was one of the greatest I've ever seen. It took disasters such as the hijacking of United Airlines Flight 77 (which crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11) and the Eschede train disaster and analyzed it second by second. It's successor, which no longer airs either, was called "Critical Situation".
Here's some of the full episodes on Youtube, they're all about 45 minutes long and have no commercials.

Watched this every time I saw it channel flipping. Wasn't really different from any other disaster show but it was still good.

wow american narrators are annoying
wow american narrators are annoying
yeah thats the thing that kills it for me. they try so hard trying to hype it up and the way the narrator talks makes it hard to watch.
WHEN SECONDS FROM DISASTER RETUUUURNS
NOW BACK TO SECONDS FROM DISASTER
It's the forced deepness and over dramatic voice that's annoying. British narrators just speak like a normal person.
But that's besides the point, this show is still awesome. Goes into a lot of depth instead of "hurf a durf explosions".
british narrators whisper all the time

I tend to look past the tone of voice and just listen. I remember reading an interview with the guy and he said that he was completely against doing that kind of voice, but NatGeo wouldn't hire him unless he did.

That is incredibly dumb.
Funny, I actually went into a Hyatt Regency for a convention in Phoenix last week.

Well, now you've learned not to walk on the catwalks with 50 other people!
This and "Air Emergencies" were my favorite, they still are to. Oh my god! New Air Emergencies!

This needs to be highlighted, if it isn't already.
National Geographic is probably the best channel on television if you ask me. Along with Discovery, Travel, History (and food :P), it's all I watch on TV.
