woah woah what the fuck happened to the website
We're in the process of breaking stuff. (vB3 to vB4 upgrade... and man, the style manager sucks ass. Garry knows what I'm talking about)
We're in the process of breaking stuff. (vB3 to vB4 upgrade... and man, the style manager sucks ass. Garry knows what I'm talking about)
This also confused the shitfuck out of the newsbot and it reposts news.
Let's just give students a AAA engine so they can be lazy and not learn how engines are made.
And now we wait until it finds its way onto the internet.
No we wont.
I wonder if my Uni will get it, it would be nice to do some 3D animation on that beast of an engine.
The server is too busy at the moment. Please try again later.
UDK is shit though
UDK is shit though
You've clearly never given it a decent chance.
You've clearly never given it a decent chance.
Why the fuck would game programming students want to use UDK? You do game programming to do game programming, not use a map editor with unrealScript You clearly have no logic.
Because UnrealScript is used in most programming jobs right? [editline]02:58PM[/editline] I'm actually pissing myself laughing here. You actually think people go to uni to learn UnrealScript, bwahaha
Because UnrealScript isn't a programming language.
Yes, when studying computer games programming I sure want to be locked into a bad, proprietary scripting language.

A premade, simple to use script or spend a good few years trying to come up with a decent engine?
This is genius marketing move, i mean really clever. By giving them to the future of game devs they are adding a whole new generation of devs to their engine, plus it saves the uni money for an amazing engine. Win win.
To all you guys thinking how nice it was from Crytek, it was a purely marketing move. When you learn making games in CryEngine, what engine are you going to demand for use in your game? They are no way trying to be nice. It's just way to get more people buy their engine, and to get more money. Micro$oft does this for years.

The reason why people do computer programming in uni.
inb4 Crytek bawing about leaked versions on internets
Chances are you have to sign some legal shit.
Source/UDK all the way.
Our University just adopted the Unreal UDK and it opens up some really interesting posibilites, its nice to see other developers following suite and doing the same to give students the chance to show off what they can do.
wow they're REALLY trying to get people to use their engine... (and still only 4 games will be scheduled to use it, and at least 2 will be canceled) [editline]10:47AM[/editline]
Chances are you have to sign some legal shit.
well it's a university. you do know what a university is, don't you? [editline]10:49AM[/editline]
We're in the process of breaking stuff. (vB3 to vB4 upgrade... and man, the style manager sucks ass.
well it's a university. you do know what a university is, don't you?
Eh? what has uni got to do with anything? They aren't just going to give you access to a AAA engine without signing any legal documents, u mad?
apparently you don't know what a university is. a university is already government affiliated. you're mixing it up with a private school. and in any sense, the university would be signing the documents, not the student. u dumb? rating urself?!?!?!
