Because Steam does not give minimum system requirments for ANY of their client counterparts, I wanted to start a thread on server building. I would like if you post, please use proper pc terms. Post your server's specs in this format. [MotherBoard] [CPU] [RAM] [PSU] [Any addon card] Really no need for posting the Video Card. Now on the the post. I have a small 6-slot Pentium 4 server running Garry's Mod. Used only for home. It is ok for being a Pentium 4 Rig, it was my old gaming pc just downgraded the video for power saving. Intel D845REPI (Discontiuned) Intel Pentium 4 HyperThreading 3.00Ghz @1.50Ghz 2GB Dell Branded DDR SDRAM @266Mhz 250W 20-Pin BesTec PSU 3Com 10/100Mb PCI Network Card Running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server Ths has done a great job for what I needed from it. Keep in mine the CPU is not under the supported CPUs on intel's site but does run at half speed and is a dual-core. I think it does help even if it is slow. I don't have a big load on the server so I can't tell if this is true. Because this motherboard does not support the CPU fully, the ram suffers cutting it's speed in half, the RAM runs @333Mhz with a supported CPU. The slowest system that I got the server to run is the Apple TV 1st Gen (the big white square, not the small black puck) Custom Made Motherboard Pentium 4 1.00 Ghz Single-Core Mobile 256Mb DDR SDRAM @333Mhz There is my research now please help the other server owners or want-to-own by posting your research.
