Perhaps one of the most influental movies of the latter half of the last century, blade runner is a sci fi masterpiece based on the book "Do androids Dream of Electric Sheep". If you haven't seen it, do so (see the directors cut), this film inspired the entirity of cyberpunk and most sci fi films thereafter have hints of bladerunner in the background. It is also a superbly told story with epic art direction, great acting and beautiful music.

Whenever I can't sleep I watch this movie and BAM I'm sleeping like a log.
It's more effective than sleeping pills.
It is confusing as fuck when you watch it in two hour/hour and a half segments. Got to watch it in my World Lit class.

So why does it put you to sleep? I thought you meant it was boring.
So you only watch films with constant action?
Of course not, that'd be silly.
This movie is freakn' awesome, the game was pretty cool as well. Bit outdated but still very much playable.
So you only watch films with constant action?
doesn't have constant action.
But I do agree with the sleeping bit, the dialogue is very soothing and the music only adds to that.

You best be saying the movie has a dream like effect (which it does), not that it's boring and shit.

Take a guess.
This movie is amazing. Lots of people that I've listened to didn't like it, only because it didn't have enough action. This movie isn't about action, it's about the story.
Same with Dune the movie. Yeah, I agree, it does start out a bit boring, but the movie and books are so deep, only the people who watch it all the way through will understand how good they are.
Watched this in a Film and Lit. class, it was pretty good.

Hello there, Fauker.
This is one of my favorite films. It's weird, everyone I know either loves it or says they find it boring and can't finish it. I've seen it 3 times and it's an engrossing film that doesn't even feel that long.
I guess it's an extreme love/hate case.
One of the greatest sci-fi films ever.
the people who say this is the greatest sci-fi ever have only seen the directors cut
the original cut isnt so good

It's pretty similar, more music and some of the plot twists are more obvious in the original. If you don't like one cut you won't like another.
Book is better.
Alot better.

I agree, but you should also mention that if you haven't read it, you should do so.
"Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" is an incredible novel, easily as extraordinary as the movie, if not more

The Final Cut is my favorite version of the film

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...
I've watched C-Beams glitter in the dark, near the Tannhausser Gate

...time to die."
I don't think I've ever seen the directors cut and I thought it was great. I hear the ending is what "fucked up" the original cut but I thought it was a great ending. Maybe I did see the directors cut but I'm not sure that's even possible.
Awesome film. Always watch it on TV and anytime i get bored on DvD.

Harrison requested to not do the voice over because he believed it wasn't required.

Directors cut ends in uncertainty which adds to the overall atmosphere and feel of the movie. Personally, i see the original as Ridley trying to make a sci-fi noir thriller and the directors cut as the artistic vision.
I watched the movie a couple of week back and it seriously opened my eyes. I knew people based a lot of work off it but it was just mind blowing seeing it all.
I think the Final Cut is the best, most perfected edition. The Director's Cut was good too, but if you're watching it for the first time I suggest the Final Cut if you can see that.
