• I'm looking for a pack of synth cuts

Synth cuts are those short little 1-2 second clips of instruments you hear in lots of house, electro, and similar kinds of techno. If you listen to anything by Madeon, you'll know what I'm talking about. Daft Punk and Justice use them all the time, too. So I'd like a suggestion for a nice pack of 500+ or something like that. I've seen some that come with thousands, but I prefer quality to quantity.
Just make them yourself, or sample from music. When you make them yourself, you should resample them. As for sampling, It seems it would be hard to catch some of them in a song, but there are plenty of places where theres just a single instrument playing. I dont think there is a pack like that, but get a pack with synth loops (google will help), and slice parts out yourself. Be sure to compress and EQ them together a bit, maybe some distortion?
Sure but going to great lengths to make a great sounding synth that will only play for a second or two is a complete waste of time. I do have some Vengeance sets so I'll explore those. I'm all for creating everything from scratch, but sometimes it's just time to bite the bullet and admit that it's way more trouble than it's worth.
Just make a fuck load of them and make variations on them and save them all to a folder. You can make some basic stabs to start with and work from those. Just save every synth sound you make to a folder so when you need more stabs you have more to go back to.
All I have for synth-making is Massive, and then Ableton's operator. I haven't been able to get decent stabs and more mellow synths. I wanna get some funky bass and disco-type synths but I'm not so sure Massive is the tool for that.

Anyway, that should be very doable with massive, it can do pretty much anything. Operator is really good too. Also making the synths is good practice

There's a House sample pack (loopmasters? could be wrong, not at home) that has a whole section full of synth cuts. Definitely not 500+ but there are quite a few.
Maybe it was the vengeance pack, one of the two.
There are like 12
Maybe it was the vengeance pack, one of the two.

It sounds like you just need more practice programming synths really.

All I've gotten the hang of now is getting dubstep wobbles, since that's what I got Massive for. I've just been using Operator to make simple little minimal synths and things for all of my other pieces. I'll take some time to practice.
I've actually gotten worse at programming regular synth sounds since I started doing dubstep haha. I'm planning on spending most of the day fucking with my Virus :)
Is that thing worth getting if I already have a keyboard?
Is that thing worth getting if I already have a keyboard?
Soft synths are really good these days. If you have loads of money lying around, sure, but it's not worth it if you don't have a huge amount of excess cash.
Is that thing worth getting if I already have a keyboard?
I have the desktop module version since It's like $1000 less and the only difference is it doesn't have a keyboard. It sounds absolutely incredible though, and if you have the extra cash to spend it's worth every penny (IMO). I fucking loveeee my TI.
They have one without a keyboard? Hell yes.
