Hey everyone, I'm not sure if this goes here but I'm going to try and see what happens. For my English class we are supposed to make a Edgar Allen Poe-like video. I wanted to use a first person camera for multiple reasons. My first question is is this a good idea overall? It might be a lot of work but as I'm imagining it it would be awesome. Second, what kind of camera should I get/use? Do I need to buy a special one? I don't want it to be cheesy, which means on the better side quality wise. Third, what program is good for editing the video to add effects and filters? Four, could you guys post some good first person videos that you really like just so I can get a better feel for the idea of it? Thanks in advance for your answers and help First person video(s) -I really like this one, just the cutting in and out of scenes.
i think the first person idea is great, but what is your budget to spend on this? Because you sound like you are wanting this to be really good, somewhere in the $600 range
Thank you But yes I want it to be good, and I think if it can still be done well pretty cheaply. Can I ask about the 600 price tag?
College Humor has a lot of good POV. http://www.collegehumor.com/video/5807053/pov-trying-to-fall-asleep
Are you looking for more of a DSLR that can film video, or a video camera?

I've always been told by these guys, 550D for video.
Any of those DSLRs work. I have the 60d and I love the video
DSLR is the video platform of the future
A DSLR would be best for this or you have to find a way to attach a 10KG camera to your head. A 550D/T2i would do fine and it's cheap here's a video how freddiew attached his (60D?) to his head:
