For the past hour or so I've been trying to find a piece of software which will automatically press a certain key that works within a game application, and so far I've had no luck.
I've tried Auto Hot Key and auto clicker to see if the click would even register, but none do, outside of the game they both work perfectly fine, but within not at all.
Does anyone know any software that could do this actually within an application such as a game?
The Logitech G19 keyboard is supposedly excellent for doing this. I don't own it personally, and it's expensive, but it certainly seems to be the best way to do macros.
You can also try running games in a window to use the key presser program, which has worked for me. The program I use is called "Key Presser". Here's a link to it: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9937629/KeyPresser.rar
I have used Key Presser but it doesn't work within a game, even in windowed mode.
Perhaps you should get something really heavy and put it on the key!

I need it to repeatedly press it, not hold it.
Ghost Control
I have the G15 (one with the 3x18 "G" keys, w/ the screen). It comes with its own macro maker in it.
There is also MacroMaker. Which is a very robust and versatile macro creation application.
Was trying this with my sidewinder keyboard, the macro would just not play inside the game, I know exactly what you're trying to do Prid. Not sure if a g15 would work better but this Microsoft keyboard does not do it.

MacroMaker works, thank you very much. Should work for you as well Prid.

I use it, it interprets scripts and does what you tell it, it is pretty neat. You can even use it to make rapid fire mods for all games.
Edit: Shit I read OP, ok, but i am still leaving this here to help anyone.

Whatever I use won't work in-game even in windowed mode.
:smith:
Right, after much fucking around I've managed to get Macro Maker half working, except it has about a 30 second delay between each key press, even changing the delay does nothing and there's no delay out of the game.

vibrator, then?
vibrator, then?
Please get out. I'm not in the mood for your stupid suggestions.
Also, I managed to get it working eventually, but what a damn hassle, I still don't know why it wasn't working before, I just recall messing around with compatability settings and disabling UAC.
Thanks for everyones help.
Here is something similar:
There’s a new piece of hardware getting crowd funded that looks to be a great tool for gamers! Their tagline is " The functionality of macro software in a hardware device ". Think of a hardware version of AutoIt, but undetectable as it appears to Windows as a keyboard and mouse ! It records and plays back keystrokes, mouse clicks and mouse movements.
I think this is a huge evolution from macro software to macro hardware. I really want to get one of these (contributed already) so I’m spreading the word so that they meet their goal and make them. If you are at all interested in this, buy one and tell your friends!
