I was curious if I really do need all of these installed on my computer/if its safe to un-install them, and only install the needed ones? To me all of that seems excessive.

Those are probably from Windows Update. I wouldn't mess with them because a bunch of stuff depends on those redist packages to work properly.
Iirc, you just need the latest 32 and 64 bit versions of each one. You can uninstall old versions, but make sure to keep the latest of both for all years.
Alright, I guess Ill just leave them be. I dont want to mess anything up.

There are actually differences between them. I remember you couldn't play COD4 without a certain version for example.
