The father of a 6-year-old Ohio girl who turned up on the U.S. government's terror watch list says the worst thing his daughter has ever done is probably been mean to her sister. But Santhosh Thomas, a doctor from Westlake, Ohio, says he's sure that's not enough to land his 6-year-old Alyssa on the no-fly list of suspected terrorists. "She may have threatened her sister, but I don't think that constitutes Homeland Security triggers," he told CNN. An airline ticket agent informed the family of their predicament when they embarked on recent trip from Cleveland to Minneapolis. "They said, 'Well, she's on the list.' We're like, okay, what's the story? What do we have to do to get off the list? This isn't exactly the list we want to be on," Thomas said. The Thomases were allowed to fly that day, but authorities told them to contact the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to clear up the matter. Now they've received a letter from the government addressed to 6-year-old Alyssa, telling her that nothing in her file will be changed. Federal authorities have acknowledged that such a no-fly list exists, but as a matter of national security, they won't comment on whose names are on it nor why. "The watch lists are an important layer of security to prevent individuals with known or suspected ties to terrorism from flying," an unnamed spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration told Fox News. "She's been flying since she was two-months old, so that has not been an issue," Alyssa's dad said. "In fact, we had traveled to Mexico in February and there were no issues at that time." That's likely because of a recent change by the Transportation Security Administration, which used to check only international passengers' names against the no-fly list, but since earlier this month has been checking domestic passengers as well. The Thomases told CNN they plan on appealing Alyssa's status to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security again, and will be sure to leave plenty of extra time for check-in the next time they fly.
Source
Goddamn! They were right! Our children are terrorists!! /sarcmark
This is NOT the right way to think about the children... they're doing it wrong...
Oh wow.
Thank fucking god the FBI is finally putting a stop to her. She'll be giving noogies in Guantanamo Bay where she belongs, in no time. :911: This is what happens when you threaten the pilot with a tantrum.
Good to see that this is where all our money for national security is going.
The Department of Homeland Security is where they put all the people that know too much to fire, but are way too dumb to work in the real departments that matter, like the CIA and FBI. What they say should not be taken seriously.
Ted Kennedy was on the no fly list, too.
It's an organization designed to monitor the entire populace (300 million) for certain things (buying a shitload of fertilizer or cough medicine for example), it's not surprising nor damning that something like this has happened. Funny though
God bless America, keeping these Nazi terrorist fascist communist totalitarian suicide bomber culturally different scum off our planes.:911:
A friend of mine has an 8 year old daughter who is on the terror watch list. They went on some trip awhile back and the idiots actually went and called in to see if she matched the description, it was kind of funny the way he described listening to the guy talk on the phone. "She's eight, yes she's eight. That doesn't match the description? You're sure?"
Back in my day kids didn't try to blow up air planes.
How would you react if you were the ticket person that discovered this? "Er, I'm sorry sir, your 6 year old can't board the plane as he's marked as a terrorist"
Ted Kennedy was on the no fly list, too.
Ironic considering he was more famous for killing people in cars than he was in planes...
Oh dear god I hope to never make it on to that list. If there's one thing I want to do before I die, it's gtfo of America.
The Department of Homeland Security is a waste [editline]05:19AM[/editline]
Ironic considering he was more famous for killing people in cars than he was in planes...
lol, yes, it's all a conspiracy. He totally drove into the lake on purpose
Oh dear god I hope to never make it on to that list. The year before a guy with our tourist group called Muhammad was immediately taken into custody when we arrived at the airport in Seattle to switch flights.
she or one of her friends/relatives probably did something to make them put her on the list why are you guys so against homeland security god bless america :911:
I remember how a 1 year old had the same name as an Armed bank robber and ended up on the list

It's called profiling.
Terrorble twos. :downs:
The US is quite moronic :patriot:
At least she was stopped before she could do harm.
Shows you how competent (mentally and physically) Homeland Security is.
Only in America?
This is why i love being in france. America will die soon cause of its moronic security
God, finally. My children were in tears because of that monster. It's good to know she's no longer a threat.
