• Fans/Hard Drive not spinning up. LEDs still lit. PSU problem?

Sup Hardware and Software subforum. I got an issue here that I just want confirmation on before I either go drop 250 on a new PSU or send the unit in and wait 4 months on warranty replacement. I have a custom build rig with a Corsair HX1000W Power supply. I chose this hoping that it would be enough to handle all of the components in the machine. However, I fear I may have overdrawn and blown a fuse. I've got a 7200 RPM Hitachi, a core i7, and a pair of GTX285's that are slightly overclocked. I figured 1000 watts might be enough, but wasn't totally sure. Now I think I know. Incoming story: I woke up this morning and went and sat down at my computer. I tapped the keyboard and the screens didn't leave power save. I tried a few more times but to no avail, and plugged in a spare monitor just to check and there was no response. So I did a hard shutdown and restarted the computer. It booted up into the desktop and I was just about to open Firefox when my displays shut off. The case light and hard drive were still on, so I wasn't sure what was happening. After about five seconds though, they shut down and it all went dark. I unplugged the computer and waited a bit, plugged it back in, and hit the power. I got a flash of light from the case light, the fans spun for just a split second then nothing. I pressed it again, and no response at all. The odd part is the LEDs still function. The motherboard has a power and reset key that were both lit. As well as a USB light that was on, but beyond that nothing. So, Facepunch, before I call in this warranty and deal with 40 miles of red tape and bullshit, can you confirm for me that the PSU has called it quits? Pictures of the rig/power supply/ etc. available if needed.
Your motherboard is the most likely fault if everything lights up and nothing turns on. If it were the PSU then it wouldn't have any power going through at all, and most likely there would be smoke.
anyway you can redord a short video?
Sure, give me 5 minutes. [editline]07:19PM[/editline] More like 10 minutes, uploading at mach speed from a laptop. [editline]07:33PM[/editline] Video just processed so quality is terribad. [MEDIA]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyMtnzw4khc[/MEDIA]
