He said the mall staff recognized the alleged gunman and the victim as regulars at the mall. Normand said the victim had just finished purchasing an item in Foot Locker when three shots were fired. "The only thing that we know is that the victim had just finished a transaction at the cash register and had turned away from the cash register and was walking away when the perpetrator walked up to within 3 to 4 feet of him, and we believe at this point and time that there were three shots fired," Normand said.
I live right next to this mall. Pretty scary. It took place in a sneaker store, and was said to have been over an argument in relation to sneakers, News story and interview in the source.

$5 that someone bought the last pair of boots this guy wanted.
Shooting someone over sneakers.
#blacklivesmatter
how do you even know if the guy was black
how do you even know if the guy was black
There are some black women crying in the OP pictures, probably related.
Doesn't surprise me, Christmas eve shoppers are 10x worse than black Friday shoppers. Fucked up though
Sounds gang related.
There are some black women crying in the OP pictures, probably related.
Are you serious? Maybe they're crying because someone was fucking killed on Christmas Eve, not because it was a black person who was killed. We don't even know the race of either the murderer or the victim yet.
how do you even know if the guy was black
Well... That's really stretching it.
Well when I had read it the article had stated that the identities of the victim, and the perpetrator, were not being disclosed at the time. Maybe I just misread it or something w/e
great job everyone thanks for immediately clarifying which race was behind the crime as if it even mattered well done
why does race matter you guys aren't helping at all, especially due to recent issues
great job everyone thanks for immediately clarifying which race was behind the crime as if it even mattered well done
The guy asked, I gave a logical answer based on the pictures and somehow managed to offend someone. I'm no Canadian, but sorry.
it's not safe to assume things, stop assuming things
Whelp, there goes the thread.
it's not safe to assume things, stop assuming things
Is that an assumption?
Eyewitnesses tell WWL-TV the shooting may be connected to a pair of sneakers.
You scuffed my white sneakers! I'll show you...
You scuffed my white sneakers! I'll show you...
how do you know the sneakers werent black
how do you know the sneakers werent black
I guess you're right. Thats awfully racist of me. #blacksneakersmatter
How many lives do we have to lose before we ban Air Jordans?
it's not safe to assume things, stop assuming things
I'm not saying it's a good thing, and even though this is a really shitty thing to say: stereotypes exist for a reason.
People have been killed for less.
why does race matter you guys aren't helping at all, especially due to recent issues
It's literally perpetrated everywhere though. The news, media. Hell even when describing someone of a different ethnicity, you're supposed to describe their race. Although in this certain case, I don't see the relevance. I'd rather hear that the man who did the shooting will be going to jail, while his family grieves about a loss over a pair of fucking shoes.
that 'sneaky' bastard.
I'm not saying it's a good thing, and even though this is a really shitty thing to say: stereotypes exist for a reason.
not any reason that is rational or justifiable, stereotype propagation harms society more than most people realize
Well...
goddamn he looks high as a kite
"I've seen a lot of people running and policeman coming in like it was in Cambodia or something, like a war," said shopper Paul Horton.
Is this a Dead Kennedys reference? Cause if it is then Paul is a genius. It's Christmas, a holiday. Holiday in Cambodia!
