So, I have my speakers and microphone connected to the appropriate line-in ports on my motherboard, but I've been noticing a real strange behaviour recently. Usually, when my microphone is plugged in it gets detected and works fine with everything, but now when I unplug my microphone it says that it's plugged in, and when I plug it in Windows believes that there's no microphone connected.
Plugging it in makes the PC think I've unplugged it, in a nutshell. This is really confusing me and I'm trying to download drivers to see if that rectifies it but Virgin Media (my ISP) have been having some troubles recently and the download often gets cancelled.
Any ideas?
Maybe it has something to do with speakers too, try replugging them both or sumtin

I've plugged and unplugged everything audio related like crazy in different configurations, not working :(
Maybe there's dust in the ports?

Drivers appeared to be the issue, finally pulled through and managed to download them.
