• Microsoft Phone - All my data used up in a matter of minutes?

So on wednesday the 11th (my birthday!) I bought a Samsung Focus at my local AT&T store. I bought the $15 data plan that was required and that came with 200mb of data usage per billing cycle. That was cool beans, so I woke up this morning and I had three text messages from AT&T telling me that I had used 65% - 90% and 100% of my allowed data and that I was now being charged another $15 for another 200mb. So apparently I used all 200mb of my allowed data per month at three in the morning. Does anyone know if there is something that my phone is using my data for? If anyone can solve this problem they can save me another $15! :v: EDIT: Forgot to mention that my data started to be used at 3:20am and ended at 3:24am. So ALL of my data was used in four minutes.
I would say take it back to the AT&t store and ask them why this happened because there should be no reason that it should use all that data in 4 minutes.
Well I just got off of the phone with them and apparently it synced my contact book with facebook. So whenever I recieve a call, text or look at any of my pictures or basically anything on my phone at all it connects to facebook. So I recieved a lot of texts last night and that's what did it. Phone = Fucking Retarted.
And that's why I don't get a smartphone.
No, thats why you should root the phone and delete the facebook bloatware
Or don't get a 200MB data plan... Anything less than 2GB on a smartphone is useless.
Yeah, to be quite honest, unless you enable and disable data only when you need it, 200 MB is not very much data at all for a smartphone. I can download 100 MB podcasts in just a few minutes on the way across town. Its not just a fancy cell phone anymore, they are practically full blown computers now, and think about how fast you go through 200 MB on that. Basically, my only suggestion is, find an option in the menu to disable the data connection, and only enable it when you need it and just use Wifi.
sounds like you don't need a smartphone.
It should be $15 for 1GB of data and $30 for unlimited. Why can't AT&T have unlimited like every other carrier? [editline]15th May 2011[/editline] Also why didn't you just set it to wifi? I'd switch carriers because even 2GB plan will go instantly.
WinMo7 actually has a problem with data. I'm not clear if it was ever resolved, and I know microsoft was researching the issue (you might be able to find a fix for it on Microsofts website). But people were reporting the phone was using as little as 30MB a minute in data.
Isn't there older Win phones that are basically the same thing but without FB? Downgrade and get one of them.
Isn't there older Win phones that are basically the same thing but without FB? Downgrade and get one of them.
Windows Phone 7 is a massive overhaul to Windows Mobile. They are almost like entirely different operating systems, despite both being Windows branded.
Isn't there older Win phones that are basically the same thing but without FB? Downgrade and get one of them.
Installing Windows Mobile 6.5.3 on a phone made for Windows Phone 7? Believe me, it's not worth the effort. Assuming it's even possible
Isn't there older Win phones that are basically the same thing but without FB? Downgrade and get one of them.
Older Windows Mobile versions are fucking shit. You're better off trying to get Android on it.
Older Windows Mobile versions are fucking shit. You're better off trying to get Android on it.
I have a omnia with windows mobile 6.5 and it sucks so bad. there is a andriod dual boot thing but it has no drives for any connections so its useless. and does anyone know of something other than outlooks for messaging? I am tired of going to emails when I try to look at texts.
